What do you think about the cost of this makeover? okay? too steep?

Here is the story. Im literally moving TOMOROW (or well, its past midnight, so today.) and im going to re-decorate most of the room.

What i will be doing:

-New bed comforters/blankets/pillows for two beds - $95 each

-New Desk - $60 (which is a necessary anyway)

-Big Bookcase/Shelving Unit area thing. $240

And that is IT, besides little accessories that i will add later.

So total, thats about $500. Im 14 and im making my room elegant and a little mature (but still cute and awesome) so it WILL last me through high school..and forever and ever! and i have never never re-done my room ever before, so i think its about time.

I think that i will pay for atleast half of it and maybe my mom would pitch in for about half too.

SOOOOO, I was trying to keep costs down low and i really want to pay for most of it. Do you think this is reasonable?

I think that you could find a shelving unit that is cheaper than $240 and it could still look nice.  I would spend more money on a nicer desk, better comforter sets and more accesories. You might not want to spend that much money on your room considering your only 14 and your style will probably change by the time your a junior or a senior.
