IMO, inflation increases your production costs, and maybe other costs. To reduce inflation you need to increase domestic prices (max them if you can handle it), set production to demand only, raise taxes to 100%, reduce building, reduce social costs. If you are self-sufficient, it is a meaningless number. Inflation simply raises all the prices. So while it is raising your production prices, you can also raise your domestic prices to your consumers. If you want to fight it, simply raise domestic prices, and drop production to demand instead of capacity. You can also raise taxes through the roof. Many government wonders are taking it upon themselves, as usual, to do a bit of "house cleaning"...the targets: the average Joes.  Right before this winter, the increases in all controlled fuel sources will skyrocket with the added minus to low-incomed consumers of no more credit and no tolerance policies for bills unpaid.

You are witnessing the snowball effect of one commodity being allowed to run amok...gas products are rising & continuing that path, coal is on super rise--this will be the excuse used to increase electricity, wood, pellets & burn corn will rise because they are alternatives being turned to, generators & storage batteries are already rising as well--you are about to see a serious no-win situation that will be felt most harshly by shelters, senior citizens, low-incomed...many homeless, orphaned, and "slum lorded" tenants will be found frozen during this coming year.

Crime rates are already soaring due to desperation and fear, food pantries are not going to be able to keep up their works, meals-on-wheels is going to have to cut back, as will shelters for children and homeless...school meals will lessen quality even more than now, and increase in prices to compensate for the many more additions to the free-meal catagory.  

Imprisoned "dangers to society" will not feel the impact of this economic crisis as much as We the People will, by any means...they will still be fed, clothed, and kept at a "humane" level of livelihood...go figure that one!!!  And keep it in mind when the headlines start flowing.

Solution???  Prepare yourself.  Can & vacuum pack as much fresh foods as possible, stock grains, nuts, dried, unsulfurred fruits, candles, blankets & thermal clothing,stock up on natural supplements, quality protein/meal shake mixes (esp. those that only require water), natural antibiotics like Echinacea, Golden Seal, Olive Leaf Extract, Tea Tree Oil, etc. (go to www.herbalhealer.com for more info on that), prepare your home with insulation, fix leaks & cracks, change filters, etc., stock woods/pellets now, and as much cash as possible (not in banks)...in other words, if there was a threat of war in your area, what could you and your loved ones be doing to prepare for 4 months of devastation???  If all fuel sources were cut off for a time, if no refrigeration was available, if you had to hide in a bomb shelter--what would you need to survive???  Don't forget about protection of Self & that which you have gathered.

Gathering & planning with good friends and family in this effort would be a wise move...sticking together & pooling resources will mean everything during the coming times...the metel of society is about to be tested to it's max.  The thing to watch most closely will be the merit of your leaders, celebrities, and others of power...how this "crisis" effects them compared to you...what outside influences will be brought in as "distractions", and manipulation techniques used during the whole process...watch & learn!!!  Also be wary of the religious fanatics that will be coming out of the woodworks!!!  Religions and governments have been working together quite efficiently for centuries...historically evidenced.
