Well I feel it's bad for a load of the big stars are giving up lots of county cricket for 20/20 which does not give them good practice for test matches this summer. 20/20 has no stratergy it's just slogging. And isn't as intresting as ODIs or Tests. Do you think cricket is going down hill with all these power plays and games for people with low attention spams?

  1. i think its good because all the best world player playing together.

  2. It seems fine, as long as you like 20-20. I'm just an old f**t, however, and to me this kind of cricket is not the real game. Not very many people seem to enjoy the 'traditional' game, but I'd much rather watch it while relaxing in the sun with a nice pint than see the crude smashing about of this brash spectacle. It's not a game for true cricket lovers.

  3. I think it is a good idea.It gives cricketers money.

  4. Rubbish

  5. 20/20 has been going for about 5 years now and its not about slogging, its a more intense game as the runs are quicker and more of a laugh, it also takes the pressure of the top class cricketers, more youngster go to these matches as they can go after school and isnt as expensive to go to as a football match, top class cricketers will not give up test matches it will just help the up and coming cricketers of the future, go to one of these 20/20 matches and then say that its just about slogging and it does have strategy, read the rules of the game...

    How to play Twenty20 cricket

    1. All matches are 20 overs per side, with the teams divided into three groups - North, Mid/West/Wales and South.

    TWENTY20 CUP GROUPS

    North

Derbyshire, Durham, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire

    Mid/West/Wales

Glamorgan, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire, Somerset, Warwickshire, Worcestershire

    South

Essex, Hampshire, Kent, Middlesex, Surrey, Sussex

    2. Most matches start at 5.30pm, with a 15-minute interval before the start of the second innings, but some may begin at 7.30pm to allow play under lights.

    3. Each innings should last no longer than 75 minutes, equating to an average of three minutes 45 seconds per over.

    4. Teams will incur a six-run penalty if they fail to bowl the full 20 overs within the 75 minutes.

    5. Batsmen must be ready to take guard or in position at the bowler's end within 90 seconds of a wicket falling.

    6. Only two fielders are allowed outside an inner circle for the first six overs of a team's innings.

    7. Individual bowlers are permitted a maximum of a fifth of the total overs in a completed innings ie four overs if there is no delay or interruption caused by rain.

    8. Umpires can impose a five-run penalty for time-wasting by batsmen. They are expected to be ready as soon as the bowler is ready.

    9. No-balls will be penalised by a free-hit next ball - a batsman cannot be out from a free-hit delivery unless they are run out.

    10. Each side must face a minimum of five overs to constitute a match. The Duckworth-Lewis method will be used to calculate run targets in rain-affected games.

    11. The three group winners, three second-placed teams and best two third placed teams will go through to the quarter-finals on 24 July. The winners of those games progress to semi-finals/final day at Trent Bridge on 12 August.

  6. Cricket needed something like 20/20.  It gave players who are big hitters and cannot get into national sides like ODI and Tests because of low stamina and staying power, a chance to play big-time cricket and for the public to really see these guys perform.  It's not every batsman that can do that.  The public loves it - bowlers are also in a new dimension of bowling in these matches and fielders have their work cut out going after shots in which balls are not air bound.  Watch the Ausies and Kiwis who battled some - once the players who are good at this come forward and do their thing the other national players won't be sort of forced to do this big hitting bit - because it is not their scene.  There are test cricketers who did not and stil don't play ODI matches - same reason. Means lots of money to cricketers - look what happened in India. SA's Pollock is going to Wales to play 20/20. Once Kevin Pietersen retires from national cricket I'm sure he'll be prepared to play 20/20 - it's fun, more relaxing and the six or nix hitters have a ball!

  7. IPL is good

  8. i heard someone on radio say they reckon it'll make cricket bigger than football

i fell on the floor and rolled round laughing hysterically

  9. unpredictable....but entertaining! :)

  10. No

  11. IPL is Fully Rubbish. No passion because it's not international. Just only business and should harm international cricket.
