What do you think about the influence in the media in politics nowadays?

for example in Newspaper, Magazines, Radio, TV, Internet...

what have changed since this types of media emerge in our society?

since the media seems to engage in a ploy called 'swift boating', i don't like the influence of the media in politics.  the only responsibility of the media is to report events as they actually take place without trying to sway the public one way or the other.  when media people try to editorialize too much, there is a tendency to distort the truth, which could be damaging not only to the politician in question, but to the public which is trying to make a sane decision in casting votes for those running for public office.
