Some places are just limiting it to young drivers.Do you think that is fair,or should it be to all drivers?

  1. Cell phone use while driving is dangerous for ANYONE. Not only does a cell phone slow reaction time, it slows responsiveness because on hand's off the wheel. And headsets and speakerphones are just as bad. The University of Mass. did a study, and guess what? Even with a headset, reaction times were slowed to the level of someone who's legally drunk. Apparently it's the distraction of conversation that's the culprit, so it's wise to limit the number of teenagers in a car driven by someone 16 or 17.

  2. I'm for it. BUT, now everyone has to scramble around in their cars looking for the headset pieces while they're driving. More accidents on the way...

  3. all use while driving should be banned unless you have hands free and then it is still a distraction and a danger to themselves and to others.

it should be common sense instead of regulated but some people have no common sense.  (nothing is that important that it can't wait a few minutes.)

  4. all for it

  5. I think it's stupid to ban cell phones during driving. I also think we should be allowed to text msg, surf the net, drive with one toe, install the TV's in the front dash, and come to think of it - a laptop that pops out of the steering wheel for our e-mail convenience. Anything, ANYTHING but just plain driving -- it's so boring just watching the other cars drive too.

  6. Common sense, mate.

You can't tell me that someone with one hand on a phone is in full control of a car. If someone pulls out in front of you suddenly, you think you'll be able to stop when one hand is up around your ear? You won't. It's as simple as that.

It wouldn't be fair to limit it to younger drivers though. Hit everyone with it.

    Like I said. Common sense.

  7. I think is long past due. Hang up and drive.

  8. I'm 100% for it... i have had a friend die and others injured because they were in a wreck caused by someone on their cell phone. Age regardless you can't focus 100% of your attention on two different things.

try reading two books at once or writing with one hand one thing and the other hand the other... you can't accomplish two tasks completely effectively when you can't focus all of your attention on it. You give more to either one or the other.
