  1. I think its a good sign. As craft brews and other types of alcohol eat away at the Pilsner business it will force the megabrewers to either adapt, merge or die. There's still a Coors on the board of directors and none of the current main product lines seem in jeopardy of going away, so I doubt if drinkers of Coors or Miller will notice much of a difference anytime soon.

  2. I am not worried from a selection stand point. I am not worried from a marketing standpoint. I am a bit worried about foreign mega corps. owning American iconic businesses.

There are far too many people enjoying homebrewing and the old world beers to worry about the new world mega brands running us out of town. The beer consumer is better educated then ever before and the numbers continue to grow.

  3. I am a beer snob, but High Life is my cheap beer. As long as I can get a 30 pack for under $15 tax included it's all good !!

  4. Both of those beers are pretty bland, so a merger doesn't mean much of anything.

  5. As an avid beer drinker I don't touch either of them... but either way... it worries me. Neither organization is known for making world class beer, and the combined power of two mega breweries scares the living sh#t out of me. Eventually, there will be two major beer companies (InBev and SAB) and then all the little guys, fighting to survive under their overwhelming might and iron fisted advertising.

Microbreweries only make up around 7 or 8% of the overall beer sales in the US as it is... what happens when they have to fight the combined resources of Coors/Molson/SABMiller?
