  1. Dude! that's cool! now look at this picture!http://www.santabanta.com/wallpapers/rat...

  2. Hi Hello,

    My thoughts:

    1. TATA NANO is aimed at Indians who would otherwise purchase a 2-wheeler.

    2. Hummers and SUVs are off-road vehicles. I repeat - OFF-ROAD! They should not be on the roads anyway. Why does the US army use Hummers? Because they are off-road!

    3. With petrol/diesel prices rising and countries going to war for oil, this car can be the best solution.

    4. For those who own big cars and complain about pollution, TATA NANO is Euro IV compliant. I hope this is loud and clear. The governments should ban all the 8 cylinder 3 litre gas-guzzling cars transporting only ONE person! Today, there exists NO car in the world that runs on petrol and produces lesser pollution than the TATA NANO!

    5. The basic $2500 car is nothing but bare-basic. There also exist 2 luxury variants and they WILL HAVE:

    - A/C

    - Radio

    - Fog Lights

    - And Air-Bag can also be installed if the market demands

I hope this clarifies the matter!

  3. indias version of hitlers "peoples car"

Trash, but affordable to sweat shop workers

  4. well its terrible that a car that is small and cheap is going to be accessible by India but if you look at it another way at India's Tata car is small and simple where it would take less resources to make and it also be fuel efficient.  Also, Im pretty sure since its mainly families thats going to buy this u would see the whole 5 seat car filled up so many people are going to carpool in them.  Now u lets examine our cars:  Huge hummer size, gas guzzling, single passenger cars!

now while we love to point out others countries pollution problems at the moment right now why dont we look at OUR pollution problems and how we as a lower population of 300 million is doing MORE damage than the whole 1.1 billion population of India combined.

When we start downsizing our cars, improve on our fuel efficiency, or even better NOT use cars in the first place, then we can start criticizing other countries environmental records but since none of that is happening right i think we keep our mouths shut!

  5. I think a car that costs $2500 is cheap for a reason.

I also think it sucks that there's a car that the 1.1 billion people in India can afford.  Definitely not good for the environment.

  6. It is not just cheap cars that are bad for the environment all cars are bad for the environment.

Lets not forget all the production involved with cars, from the raw products, transport, plastic manufacture, paint applications, fuel consumption, and the resources required to get the fuel to the end user, tyre wear, road building and destruction of habitat to build them, etc .

Car tyres alone are a disaster. Worldwide, an estimated 1.2 billion waste tyres are generated each and every year. Only a fraction of these tyres are currently recycled with the majority being incinerated, dumped or stockpiled.

The United States generates over 240 million waste tyres every year and the number of tyres in the country’s stockpiles is estimated to be more than 500 million, some experts estimating as much as 3 billion.

It has also been suggested that the 'poor people' can be buying freedom and a cheap way of travel. I do not call gridlock either freedom or a cheap form of travel. Most cities can hardly cope with the number of cars on the road as it is. For example Delhi's pollution levels are two times above the considered safe limit and is still registering 1000 new cars a day!! what is going to happen whenthat figure is 2000?

They wil be buying something they dont need with money they dont have and therefore keeping them poor as they have to pay road tax, car repairs, insurance and presumably many would have to borrow the money... Would it not be better instead of consuming more fuel to establish a good public transport system and actually have more freedom and a cheaper way of travel?

  7. No way in h**l you'll catch me in that thing!  Too small, ugly, and too low.  If you get into an accident with an SUV with that thing, you'll be dead no matter what.

And I think it is bad for the environment.  Everyone would have them because of it's price.  Even though, since it is small, it will still have a big impact.  More people driving, no matter what, more pollution.

  8. That is exactly what I am thinking.  It will deter people from using public transportation and add to traffic and pollution problems.  But it is a good thing for poor people living in some really rural place and can't get around.  So it is both good and bad.
