Question:

What do you think about the new policy changes @ eBay?

Not the ones about feedback, but the ones that go into effect in September. The ones that no longer allows a seller to accept check or money order (Pay-Pal, Pro-Pay, or credit cards only). And the one that suspends a sellers account if his / her DSRS go under 4.3?

Did you know that eBay lied about one of these changes? Check out this YouTube video where you can hear eBay make the statement that they would not change the pay policies in the United States (But broke that promise and did it anyways.)

  1. its their efforts to reduce "item not received" claims. supposedly 80% of claims are filed when paid through check or money order. Buyers will be able to pay by cc or paypal, for local pick-ups its still ok to use checks, money orders, or cash. The new payment policies don't really bother me too much but i feel uneasy about the changes to DSR ratings bc if you don't have a lot of feedback then even one or two people can put you under 4.3 and it just feels like they are siding with the ebay stores with loads of feedback and not the little guys.

And as for ebay lieing, well i'm not suprised-they are a huge corporation and i've come to expect that out of all of them.

    Great Question.

  2. It seems eBay is more concerned about the buyers than the sellers.  Without sellers, there will be no buyers.  I know many folks who use checks and money orders.  It will hurt business.

  3. i hate the stupid feedback one! i have all good ones but i hate leaving feedback for other people all the time. i am addicted to ebay & im starting to hate it cuz of all the new policy changes.
