I mean anybody can do what they want in this life, but if it wasn't for a teacher I wouldn't know what I know now. I'm a teacher and I find this very offensive.

  1. like there's good there's also evil

  2. I totally agree with everyone here and all i have to say is that I've been blessed to have teachers guide me for the beginning of my real life.

  3. It is offensive.  It suggests that teachers are losers who couldn't make it in another profession.  Considering the number of colleagues I've had who left successful careers in other professions to go into teaching, there is no truth to the expression and it really is obnoxious.  When I hear people say this, I always think, "I'd just like to see you try it!".

  4. Ridiculous phrase that was obviously coined by someone devoid of people skills. The fact of the matter is that teachers do it all.

  5. I agree with everyone.  But, WATCH THIS it is a speaker named Taylor Mali.  It talks about what teachers make and this statement you ask of, and it ROCKS!.  This says it ALL!!!

  6. Well, I guess this might be true for hitting coaches or something, but not for school teachers!!

Its one of those dumb little sayings that have to be ignored.

I prefer "I touch the future: I teach."
