I think that it is just insane that we have even got up to paying $3.00 for gas. I believe that we the prices need to go down very soon or i believe everyone will be car-pooling

  1. you think thats bad. in the UK, petrol (gasoline) costs about 95p ($1.90) per liter - thats approx $7.60 a gallon!

  2. You can thank the investors, aka "Speculators", for this latest round of price hikes. There are a good many unscrupulous people trying to get rich on the backs of the average consumer. They recently caused the mortgage crisis, and it looks as though they are at it again.

  3. It's a reflection of the declining value of the dollar. The dollar is currently in free-fall. Tax cuts for the rich combined with war equals higher prices and lower real wages for the general public.

  4. its kind of wierd that after summer the prices seem to be going up. usually after summer the prices go down till summer comes again. The only reason our prices here in Canada are staying a bit lower is because of the high canadian dollar but it still costs nearly $1/L

  5. hahahaahhahaa   get real !!!

    I guess this is $4   a gallon ?

We pay $2 a litre  in UK  4 litres =1 gallon   so $8 gallon here

You dont know your born !!

  6. This is complete BLASPHEMY, how can they allow this to happen, when we are the ones funding the war in IRAQ over 180 million dollars have gone to waste and they want to raise gas prices because they need more money for war.

God this got me mad, i think ill have a break of all of this.

  7. I just means that we will drive less. Our SUV industry will collapse. More people will lose their job. The government will try to print out more money, the inflation will go through the roof, compounding the damage of the high gas prices.

Then, we will go into a recession.

  8. I can believe it, however, I can not believe why car makers can not figure out how to improve MPG on cars.  They claim to make improvements, but nothing really changes.  The MPG on cars has not significantly improved since 1985, when gas was lass than a dollar.  Given technology today I find it hard to believe that it is that difficult to make fuel stretch.

check out the comparison on the Chevy Corvette.

There is not a huge difference, except now Chevy wants you to pay for premium fuel!! http://www.fueleconomy.gov/f*g/findacar....

  9. I'm going to hook up my dog to a wagon and have him pull me to work.

Either that or start riding my Harley to work more when it's warm.  The oil companies are laughing all the way to the bank at our expense.

I can't use public transportation, it doesn't exist for me until I get to the run down part of town.  Birmingham AL has never had good public transportation and we never will with the current leadership we have.

If I could, I would work from home but security is a problem, working for Social Security.

I can't afford to buy a 4 cylinder car right now, I just bought a new house.  I will probably try and find someone to ride with if the price gets much worse.

I never have understood why fuel costs so much more in the UK and is so cheap in other parts of the world.  I know demograhics has some place in the equation but it really shouldn't impact that much.

Maybe a world-wide boycott of the major oil companies will help.

  10. I think it is a disgrace.  We have spent over 180 million dollars in IRAQ.  We should sieze half the oil to pay for supplying them freedom.    Gas should not cost us any more then 1.00 a gallon.    In some countries like Venuezala,  it is only 23 cents a gallon.

  11. At 54 mpg (average) with my Prius, it doesn't bother me, but I do feel for those people who try to conserve and still have problems.

On the other hand. If you drives a Yukon XL/Suburban (or similar vehicle), well, I hope you feel it. Feel what excess gets you. Your choice of vehicle (for the most part) shows what you think of others. I'm all for choice...when we use it responsibly.
