  1. http://www.presstv.com/detail.aspx?id=66...

US trained georgians for long, supplied 'em with weapons, georgian president's salary was paid by US in US dollars...+ the lies about what happened in states for few days....and even now.....do the maths

2000 died in one night, genocide is present when 30 people killed from same ethnically group... Russians stepped in only to protect people.

.....Rekon Dog, thats a nice note for a military man "stuck their nose= to protect people"....very significant...

  2. Under international law South Ossetia was Georgian territory.  Their independence was not recognized by any other nation (including the Russians).

The Russians are attempting to regain the prestige and influence they lost when the Soviet Union collapsed.  They feel that the former Warsaw pact nations and former Soviet republics are withing their sphere of influence and want to keep Western influence out.

IMO this backfired when they expanded their mission in S. Ossetia into an invasion of Georgia proper.  In fact I suspect that this invasion is what prompted the Polish government to formally ask for a US military presence in their country.

  3. Um a war is a fight between two equal sides, this isnt a was this is a one sided massacre, Russia doesnt like the idea that one of its own is growing a personality, the cold war might be over but there is still the opression in Russia, Stalin isnt dead with Putin at the helm

  4. The only ones you can blame for wars are the politicians---they don't ask the people if they want to go to war-they try to convince the people that it is necessary to go to war.  The conflict in S.Ossetia had been going on for a long time because they want autonomy and Georgia wants the province---the Russians interfered because S.Ossetians hold Russian passports...

  5. It's the war in Georgia. Russia and Putin are to blame for this. He wants to start the Soviet Union back up and Georgia is first.

  6. Georgia invading South Ossetia, Russia stuck their nose in it, and Bush is doing the same.  I say "who cares about S. Ossetia and Georgia!"

    S. Ossetia claimed secession from Georgia, but Georgia claims that it is illegal.  They both bombed each other, both claiming that the other struck first.  Russia is on S. Ossetia's side, Bush (not the US), Bush is on Georgia's side!
