What do you think about these quotes?

"We have forgotten that before we began calling this date rape... we called it exciting."

AND

"...millions of people who are now refraining from touching, holding, and genitally caressing their children, when that is really part of a caring, loving expression, are repressing the sexuality of a lot of children and themselves."

(as quoted in December 1977 Penthouse article, "Incest: The Last Taboo," by Philip Nobile)

These ideas come from:

WARREN FARRELL, Ph.D.

Author of The Liberated Man and Myth of Male Power

Advisor to F.R.E.E. "FATHERS RIGHTS AND EQUALITY EXCHANGE"

Board of Directors, "NCFC" NATIONAL CONGRESS FOR FATHERS AND CHILDREN

Board of Directors "CRC" CHILDREN'S RIGHTS COUNCIL

Ideological icon of AFC aka ACFC (Stu Miller et al. father's rights lobbyists).

And this man is very much quoted in here, I find it scary. Which are your thoughts on this?

  1. I find the quotes odd to say the least.

Date rape is s*x with alcohol involved so date rape doesn't mean anything really. Bars and clubs are full of women looking to get drunk and have s*x for fun. PC feminists have seen fit to label the men they choose to have drunken s*x with as rapists.

Bare in mind that feminism has been encouraging and providing a cover for female s*x offenders by pretending that they don't exist in the first place.

Feminist leading "lights" can publish paedophile positive material without getting much criticism at all.

    See Greer and v****a monologues.

  2. What do you think about feminist Camille Paglia considering date rape a farce?

Those quotes sound creepy, to say the least.

  3. Many of the fathers rights "experts" have, in fact, had various charges against them such as sexual abuse, child abuse, domestic violence, etc.

Many believe they are a group of abusive men.

PAS is well-known to mask child abuse. When an abusive man goes to court and his wife claims child abuse/s*x abuse/DV, the man claims PAS. It is a defense tactic. She's alienating the child against me & that's why little suzie doens't want to be around me. Yeah, right!!!

This is why major organizations will NOT back it.

Keep researching this group and you will find more & more dirt. They are abusive men who want a return to patriarchy - a day when they can control their wives and kids thru violence or other means.

You will be able to see thru their agenda. Why do they attack services for women & children??? Services that would purportedly help the "male victims" of DV??? Why are they against restraining orders if they would help men??? Why do they claim women are false accusers???

    They want impunity from violoence.

Research them and uncover the facts. Expose them for what they are....abusive.

  4. Date rape is exciting to who?  Not to me.

Anyone who touches, caresses, etc the genitals of their children should be jailed for what it is- child sexual abuse.

  5. Yeah, that's kind of like a feminist icon touting pedophilia:

    http://www.amazon.com/Germaine-Greer-Bea...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eve_Ensler#...

  6. anyone who declares such things or belives in them should get his head checked out at a shrenk.

and commit himself to the mental azylum for good.

  7. I think the second one is very wrong...the first one could be used in a context to show how society has changed for the better.

Perhaps the second one one was a bud typo?

  8. I think if they weren't so titillating and abusive, they wouldn't appear in a rag such as Penthouse.

  9. I've heard them before-that's exactly why the MRA's go on and on about the supposed "rampant" sexual abuse "perpetuated" by feminists and women. MRA's not only have a "father figure" of their MRA movement who is an advocate for violence against women and children, but men like Farrell know that MRA and Father's rights groups are a perfect place for pedophiles and rapists and batterers to hang out. Here you have very hurt men who want to get custody of their children, have been rejected by their wives or girlfriends and they are being convinced that masses of women are sexual abusers, and these men are being used by men who are getting away with being rapists and child molesters.

Are all MRA's and Fathers Rights group members molesters or rapists? Of course not. And yes there are women who physically and emotionally abuse their kids (like men) but unfortunately the majority of sexual abuse is perpetuated by men (not necessarily fathers, but male family members or friends), according to the fbi, dept of justice and rape and sexual abuse crisis centers. And yes there are women who rape incapacitated men, but again, unfortunately, the majority of rape is performed by men on women and men, according to the dept of justice, the fbi and rape crisis centers. But look at the "facts" cherry-picked by this fathers rights group about the supposedly massive "hidden" sexual abuse perpetuated by women:  http://fathersforlife.org/fv/family_viol...

The problem with volunteer groups is that anyone can join, and you don't know the member's background or true beliefs. Worse, when many people join online, you're dealing with even less accountability. I've met a couple of wacky women, and wacky feminists, but I've also met wacky men and sexist men and women. But it just takes one nutjob to do a lot of damage to an organization, especially a volunteer organization. I've seen whole groups disintegrate because no one wanted to deal with one dysfunctional person in the group-or didn't want to admit they had a wackjob in their group. Sound familar? How about this father's rights group and it's hoax bomb campaign against their own family courts system:    http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2003/aug/24...

FYI: Farrell is advisor for American Coalition for fathers and children (he's the former board member of a number of "father's rights groups"):

  10. Who was he trying to pander to? NAMBLA?

  11. Genitally caressing your kids?  You're kidding, right.  If I hear one more person say they buy Penthouse or Playboy for the articles, I will definitely hurl.

  12. There is much debate if he actually stated those quotes, much like some feminist get quotes attached to them that they never stated or taken out of context.

I do not know what to beleive, but to me Warren Farrell is irrelvant anyway.

  13. There is a crazy person involved in the fathers right movement

Is your point that all people involved in fathers right movement must be crazy?

  14. It is frightening.

Consensual s*x is exciting. Date rape is frightening... and did I mention wrong? Both cause an adrenalin rush but for totally different reasons.

And as for the second point... eewww! To think there are questions regarding feminists and pedophilia when this Farrell creep has published justification for it!

  15. I think those quotes are sick and disgusting and whoever came up with them needs some serious help. Rape is never exciting and child abuse is just horrible.

  16. What what?  For some reason, I am having a mental disconnect... something in my brain is forcing me to misunderstand what this guy is saying... possibly because I don't want to be indignant and offended today.

Warren Farrell, eh?  I'll make sure that if I ever hear his name, I will interrupt the speaker with, "Warren Farrell?  The pedophilia guy?"

  17. So this is why some anti-fems keep claiming that feminists are paedophiles.

  18. What a load of c**p. That guy has gone down even further in my estimation. Yes, I find it abhorrent that certain anti-feminists here seem to look up to him and follow his every word. I found out today that there are plenty of rapist sympathisers here and now I know partially why. Exciting to who? I'm sure it IS exciting to the rapist. Is he a rapist? However 'date rape' was not exciting when it nearly happened to me and this quote makes me sick. Now, consensual s*x IS exciting. Let's not confuse the two.

  19. I agree with Baba Yaga -- this guy is very misguided.

Regarding date rape, he is kidding himself if he thinks it's exciting for the woman.

Regarding incest, I don't know if he's ever committed incest, but if he hasn't, then he doesn't understand it.

I refuse to read any of his stuff because of the skewed take he has on everything.

  20. This is absolutely atrocious.

Now, I wonder if the statement will still stand from some of the anti-Feminists, that Feminists are pedophiles?

Seems to me that even the other side has a few dark secrets of their own.

  21. I had to go back and read the bottom quote a 2nd time.

I was so sure that HAD to say "gently", but alas, no it doesn't.

There is definitely something really really wrong with this guy.

  22. I think that statements made by pedophiles who support MRAs have caused many anti-fems to work hard at claiming that feminists are pedophiles. This has been going on for years, but it seems many of the anti-fems here have just caught on.

Unfortunately, these 'claims' also works to protect the majority of pedophiles (who are generally men), and take the attention away from them.

    Can anyone say b-a-c-k-l-a-s-h?

  23. Flyinghorse, you more than anyone here know where I stand on feminism, but I think Warren Farrell was misquoted when he referred to "genitally caressing" his daughters.  I can't stand the man, but I truly believe he's just misguided, not a misguided pedophile.  I would be interested in more proof, not this one quote.  The interview in which he made this comment was recorded and later transcribed.  It's an easy enough mistake to make, confusing "gently" and "genitally."  There is plenty of material online that points to him as a pedo and it all uses this one quote as proof.

ETA:  that date rape c**p is just stupid and wrong.

  24. We women NEVER called being raped on a date exciting. NEVER. It would have been scary and terrible no matter when it happened.

As for the lie about men now unable to care for their kids: I disagree. There is nothing like a father holding his little daughter and hugging her or reading her a story when she sits on his lap. But when the daughter gets big or hits puberty there should be some physical distance between the kid and the opposite s*x parent. That isn't new - what is new is our cultures lack of boundaries in terms of talking vulgarly, acting vulgarly and intimacy of strangers.

  25. that quote sounds a bit dubious.

  26. He is obviously crazy.  But not all social conservatives are this crazy (for starters, most social conservatives don't talk about sexual repression at all.)
