  1. No I don't.

But I find the whole "reason" the laws for the uses of the vail insulting to both males and females., if I am correct in my assumptions.

From what I hear, they wear it to keep males from temptation and backed up in dogmatic religious practice, any woman not wearing one is seen as a prostitute!

    Am I right about this?

Isn't that insulting to the people? Like saying they can't control them selves!

I mean rapes are reported everyday in Muslim countries, the same as the rest of the world.

So this ideology is flawed, so why not give the woman the freedom they deserve.

Last Mohican: I said "laws" use it, not choice. If they choose to wear it then it is freedom and I'm ok with that.

Maybe you just didn't understand my answer, no biggie. But you didn't have to give me a thumbs down for your lack of understanding (stupidity)

neco: When a woman has to wear it because of a law or RELIGIOUS PRACTICE then our questioner has a valid point in what they're asking.

You may as well put a big fat swastika tattooed on their forehead, it is the same thing.

If they do it by choice for no other reason than that it looks nice. I have no problem with it.

  2. No, there is no relation between the two. It is unfair to make this comparison.

And veil has never been a symbol of the evil, either. As long as a woman feels that need, and does not force you to do the same, why should you interfere with her way of  clothing? In modern world, the criterion should be respect individual lives, I believe. As long as the rights of the ones who don’t want hijab are protected and respected, there is nothing wrong with it.

Also, the attitude towards hijab or covering women’s head is different in Islamic countries. Hence, the expression, “From what I hear, they wear it to keep males from temptation and backed up in dogmatic religious practice, any woman not wearing one is seen as a prostitute!” does not reflect the truth. In Turkey, for example, even when it was legal to go to university with scarves, only  10 %, maybe less number of the girl students covered their heads and the ones who didn’t  were (and are) never seen as prostitutes. As a father of a university student girl who doesn’t cover her head, this way of speaking hurts me, and everyone here.

  3. The person who made this comparison is a cuckoo.

The veil is just a personal freedom. It should not be forced upon anyone. Raven Claw, it's none of your business if other women want to wear a veil.

It's your view of freedom that is flawed.

  4. yes.

The veil however, has always been a symbol of the evil...
