What do you think about this drawing?

My sister grew up with this girl and she just had twins. I'm into photography and art, and she hired me to take pictures of them. She also remembered that I draw, so she asked if I could draw the twins. I just finished drawing one of them, what do you think? The picture takes out alot of shades and makes it look weird, but do you think I should add anything?

I wanted to keep his pacifier out, so the picture focuses more on his face and eyes.

  1. wow.. you're a real talent..

you're drawing is very close to the actual pic ..

my opinion, maybe you can "play" down a bit on the eye..

it's looks too piercing to me ...

  2. very good

  3. Aww hes so cute! And your drawing looks exactly like him-especially the eyes!

    Keep up the amazing work!

  4. the drawing was ok, yet i cant take my eyes off the unfinished image of the pacifier

  5. yea, work on the shading a little more...and i would focus on the ear. You have dark lines almost "outlining" the ear...in the photograph, the shading subtly blends into the face, there isn't a defined black line...anything too dark like that will draw your eye directly over to the ear. The focal point of the drawing is obviously the eyes...but then you tend to want to go right over to the ear... other than that...very nice likeness.

  6. hes adorablee!! and your drawing is very good

  7. You did a very good job.

  8. Not bad.

Bending you shading with your finger tips. Do it slowly in a circular motion.

Drawing children is hard though, especially if it's a picture for the parent.

The eyes aren't right. You've slanted the left one a little too high. There has to be more space between then ear and head. And the hair line is too harsh. Use thin, short strokes to manually add every piece of hair in. The lower cheek is too defined.

  9. Hi, I think you've drawn the baby beautifully, it is highly resemblant to the original photo, and what I admired in particular, was your portrayal of the baby's eyes.

It really is magnetic, and by looking at the eyes you've drawn, I feel something; it evokes emotions, and that to me is what a drawing should be about- perceiving that moment and capturing the life of it...and the eyes make it more than a picture, almost makes it alive~ emotionally through the paper, the soul inside the expression leaps out and is meaningful :)

I also like how you've made contour lines around the head to give it spherical shape

  10. You could make the hair look a little like hair. My first impression was that it was some sort of weird fold. It's clear what you were getting at when looking at the photo.

There's a dark border around the hair area on the forehead. That's not there in on the photo. You might better outline the area with nothing or a whiter line.

    Nevertheless it's a good drawing.
