  1. Interesting.  It's small, black and white, and out of focus but I can tell that photo has a whole story behind it.

    Who's the woman?

  2. I really like the photo :-)

    Here's another link to it:

I found the following info on it:

The photograph was taken by Mark Riboud.

The girl with the flower is Jan Rose Kasmir-she was 17 at the time.

It was taken Oct 21, 1967 in Washington DC at a protest against America's

involvement in Vietnam...which became known as the March on the Pentagon.

The rally resulted in one of the first violent clashes of the antiwar movement.

Tear gas was lobbed into the crowds, 686 protesters were arrested & dozens

were beaten as they were pushed off the Pentagon's steps.

A French newspaper tracked down Jan Rose Kasmir in 2003 & followed her

to another antiwar protest...in London, against the Iraq war. She brought a poster-size

copy of the 1967 photo with her, invoking the activist legacy of the 1960s against the

conflict in Iraq. Mark Riboud was there & captured that moment also.

Info taken from this ariticle that I found really interesting...
