I wouldn't go as far as saying they would have the best team but with a solid pitching staff I believe they would definitely be a playoff contender and a team to be taken very seriously..

Just think where they'd be if they didn't trade their good pitchers away.

In 2007 they had

Armando Galarraga (10-4 3.23 with Detroit in 2008)

Edinson Volquez (14-5 2.86 with Cincinnatti in 2008)

Ron Mahay (5-0 2.62 with Kansas City in 2008)

That's a lot of wins to be trading away.
