  1. I think I like Teddy Roosevelt's better.  "Speak softly but carry a big stick".

I am a bit of an odd Atheist in that I have the utmost respect for those who dedicate their lives to what I consider a myth.  They live in one world and I lived in quite another.  I wore a military uniform for 22 years and in that time I came to a couple of conclusions.  First it takes two people to have peace, Second it only take one of them to s***w it up.

I found it very difficult to remember "That we belong to each other" when the other is set on putting a bullet into my body and preferably at a vital location on that body.

    Cheers.

  2. that we cannot function without each other.

  3. That was slavish. No one belongs to others.

Everyone is a free man or free woman.

You are no peace because you feels others dictating you.

Peace will be achieved only if everyone are in equal position and in partnership with others.

  4. I think it means that peace comes about when people realise that they are one!

To some extent its true but I disagree with it!Its impossible for us to have the same thoughts! Our way of thinking is the one that determines whether to have peace or not!

  5. I think Mother Teresa was trying to remind us that we are all part of one body (a Catholic teaching) and one family (all of us are God's children).  And just like you "belong" to your family (your mother, father, sisters, brothers), you also belong to your World Family.

If we would recognize each other as brothers and sisters, we wouldn't inflict such torture on each other.  I mean, you argue with your siblings and sometimes they drive you CRAZY, but when push comes to shove, you defend them, protect them,  and you love them with all your heart.

That is how we should see all of the other people in this world:

All of us are brothers and sisters belonging to one World Family

People wouldn't be so eager to kill each other if it meant that they were actually killing a member of their own family.  If all of us adopted that attitude, peace would be inevitable.

  6. We must realize that we are all part of a whole. We are not disconnected. We intimately affect each other. We must learn to live in peace.

  7. You can live in peace with another , but it takes just one person to spoilt it .
