commitment, responsibility and morals,

how are they connected?

And if one chooses not to live his life by these idea, why must that be seen as avoiding or ignoring them.

Does it not depend on ones definition of these concepts, so that it can only be avoind or ignoring according to another mans ideal, not ones own, right???

  1. It's true (obviously).  Sometimes, when I get worried about things like how my parents did not give me something I really wanted, I think about all those humans around the world who don't have parents and who don't have ANYTHING.  Then I feel that my problem is so trivial and I stop whining about it.

  2. this means the size of the problem depends on the sizes of other problems you compare it too. That is true. For example; lets say my problem is that there is a hungry monitor lizard chasing me through the wilderness. This problem can be said to be a large one compared to the problems of stubbing my toe, or having a head ache. On the flip side, the problem of having a monitor lizard chase me is a small problem compared to the problem of me being chased by a hungry salivating T-Rex, or jumping out of a plane and realizing I have no parachute.

  3. In my opinion that quote is saying that a problem, any problem or some specific one referenced elsewhere, will be more of a problem for one person than another. It is relative as to how much a problem bothers someone.

For what it's worth I probably think that that is very true. Everyone has slightly different values and lives so it would be normal and understandable that certain things are more problematic to other people. For example, if I sprained my ankle today, i'd not think too much of it but if I were in Beijing right now with my 400m race tomorrow, then i'd probably think it is a bigger problem... :D

  4. I concur fully. "Right' and "wrong" are relative to whomever is telling the story. To use a simplistic example. we can curse the rain, but the farmer is pleased his well is filling up.
