my husband and I have this awesome set up like the Oriental, we have the low table and cool seating on the floor with lamps and that is how we eat on some nights, and my in laws bought us the real expensive highchair that we sometimes use for our baby but he'd rather just sit with us and eat like we do (he doesn't get solids regularly yet he's only 7 months) so is this setting a bad example? We have the regular chairs and table also but we like our unique set up too...we dare to be different ...what do you think btw neither of us are Chinese we just like the way they eat :)

**have a wonderful weekend ladies**

  1. do what works well for you and your family....and please don't call people Oriental....Last time I checked, there was no country or continent called Orient.  People from Asia are Asian.

  2. I don't see anything wrong with it. If that is the way your house is set up your son needs to join in so he will be used to it.

  3. I see nothing wrong with it, if it is what you like to do as a family then do it! Who say's you need to sit at a traditional table for every meal?

  4. That sounds amazing!  I don't think there's any problem with your little man eating like you do as there's no right or wrong way.   Nothing wrong with being a little different!

I think you're doing the right thing:  have him eat with you but on occasion put him in the highchair at the table so that if you find yourself dining at a restaurant or friend's house then he won't find the "traditional" set up so strange.

    Enjoy!

  5. As long as he is with his family does it matter where you or he sits? NO !! The whole point of family meals is being together. Some parents just plop their kids down in front of the TV to eat. No togetherness or family conversations. Now thats parenting. LOL

It would be setting a bad example if you didn't all sit down together. Whether it be at the kitchen table, floor or plastic picnic table. My son never liked being confined in his high chair.

  6. Your not setting a bag example. It's fun to eat that way. I would though, get his used to the highchair and eating at a "normal" size table, especially when family comes for dinner or you are going out to eat.
