I am trading Willis Mcgahee, crayton, Ray rice and Jake Delhomme for

Rudi Johnson, Jerricho Cotchery, Brett Favre, and David Garrard

I know mcgahee is a deal breaker but Im not convince he will have a similar season, he is already starting to wear down. Please Help me decide if this was a bad trade

  1. I would do the trade...now!!!....willis has ALWAYS had injury problems, they lost a huge piece of there O-line (Ogden retired) they are starting a rookie QB most likely.  Besides, Willis has only finished one NFL season...not a good track record.  The downside for Rudi is that he is coming of a terrible year, but Cincy picked up a few TE in free agancy in an effort to run the ball more.  So, I'd give a slight edge to Rudi.  The next guys in your trade are basically Ray Rice for Brett Favre...dude, if Farve is the QB for Green Bay...you'll make out big time.  The Crayton for Cotchery is a wash, however I really like Cotchery alot (so I'm biased a bit). The final players to compare...Garrard for Delhomme...well to me that is a huge edge for you if you can get Garrard.  Delhomme is coming off tommy john surgery (by the way, no QB has ever had the surgery and played the same again)  he'll also be without there star WR Steve Smith for the 1st two games....so I wouldn't hesitate to do this trade.  Besides you have a nice rb on your bench anyway with Ernie Graham...which I would start over willis and rudi!!!   Upgrade all around for you if you do this trade...and think of the value you'll get if Favre plays...do it!!!   Hope this helps!!

  3. Willis is a ok back, but I have questions about how he will do with a rookie to "help him" by stealing his carries. Plus with a QB option consisting of a horrible QB in Boller or two young inexperienced QBs other teams are going to blitz often. But Rudi iscomingg off a bad year and he has hurt his hamstring again, but before that he has looked good in camp. I think this is even up there. Crayton for Cotchery is about even too, though I think I would want Crayton more. Ray Rice is of course in the same boat as Willlis Mcgahee but that he is a backup. He will get more carries at the goaline, but who knows how many times he will get there. Brett may play or he may not. To big of a question mark for me. Garrard is a decient QB as a backup, worth getting for the injury prone Delhomme. All in all I dont see a big upgrade in this trade. You will get the 1-2 punch in Cincy RBs that they will do this year, but not sure if you would really be able to use that. As I said I like Crayton a little better than Cotchery, but Garrard is better than Delhomme. I say take it. The bench WRs could be much better even with Crayton in there. But if Brett and Anderson is doing well maybe you could trade one for a better WR. Not a bad trade, but too iffy to be a good one as well.

  4. Forget that trade. Why kill your team? Use free agency to improve wherever and whenever you need to. You don't have a championship team but you should be able to make the playoffs if you manage well.

  5. I can't believe the responses I am reading here.  He is supposedly getting a better RB by trading Willis Mcgahee for Rudi Johnson?!? The same Rudi Johnson that averaged under 3 yards per carry last year and then got hurt? the same guy that will probably split carries with Kenny Watson?????? This is a horrible trade for you, why would you want Favre AND Garrard when you already have Anderson as your starter? Cotchery is about the same as Crayton, so lets call that a wash.

If you take this trade, you basically screwed yourself for the year.

  6. I see you losing pretty much in every position.

  7. Thats a bad trade for you man. It screws you at QB and especially WR. You do improve RB's, but you have enough RB depth (maybe even too much). Your weak spot is WR's, and you get screwed there bad.
