What do you think about this wedding band?

well my engagement ring is a three stone princess cut. its 1 ct. the people at the jewelry store think that the bands that are slightly bent go the best with these types of rings. but to be honest i dont really like them as well as the regular "straight" bands they have to chose from at the store we have an account at. so do you think that a straight band would look ''bad'' or not matched?

thanks!

  1. I like the second one better.

  2. I like the second one, it actually looks a lot like the one I am getting.

  3. ring #1 wouldn't match. looks too much like a ringt hand ring or a fashion diamond ring rather than a wedding band.

ring #2 would work perfectly with your engagement ring.

i have a 1/2 ct. round 3 stone engagement ring and my wedding band is a 1/2 ct. diamond band almost exactally like ring option #2. they look wonderful together. i get compliments on my bridal set all the time. don't listen to the people at kay's. my experience fro them is not good, so we dont buy anything from them.

you do not have to have a bend style band. most of the time the bent style bands dont sit flush with the engagement ring unless it came as a set and was designed that way. a regular band would work just fine.

you also don't have to go through kays for your wedding bands. you could go some place else.

  4. I don't think it would look bad, I know many people who have a "straight" band with a three stone ring.  Any chance you can post some pictures so we can get a better idea?

EDIT: I don't think those would look bad at all, I actually think they would look very good.  I really like the 2nd band :).  Congrats and Good luck!

  5. The only way to know is to try them on with the ring. Mine is straight and I tried on the curved one and it was less flush than the straight.

Just try some on at store before you decide. IMO, you need the curved ones more when you have a different shaped stone or your center stone is 2 carats or larger.

  6. It would not look bad at all.

  7. I like the style of the second one the best. I think it will go great with your engagement ring, which looks very similar to my wedding ring. The great thing about both of those rings is that they are not too large, so they won't compete with your engagement ring.

Go with what you like the best, and don't rely too heavily on the person behind the jewelery counter. Unless they are a gemologist or you are buying from a swanky designer, the jewelery clerk's training is mainly in just selling jewelery, not necessarily what goes best together. They will tell you anything to get you to buy the most expensive ring.

I think a straight band will look just fine! I'm not a big fan of the bent ones anyways.

  8. First of all, your engagement ring is beautiful!  The 3-Stone rings are a nice way to get a lot of that sparkle without spending a fortune on a single huge rock.

As far as what the people at the jewelry store told you, in the end you must love the ring because it is yours.  They do bring up a point that the "curved" styles do tend to hug the ring better, but that doesn't mean that they always do or that they necessarily look better that way.  I used to work with jewelry so I got that question a lot.  It all comes down to your preference.  Back in the day, wedding rings and engagement rings were soldered together so they became one ring, so it would have made sense for the rings to fit kind of interlocked.  People still get their rings soldered, but it's less common.

And the two wedding band choices that you had on there are beautiful, but I prefer the 2nd one with the channel set princess cut diamonds.  It'll be a good complement with the engagement ring.  The 1st one would be a little too busy in my opinion.

Oh... and randomly.  I just have to mention it because it's a pet peeve of mine.  You should wear your wedding ring closest to your heart after  you guys tie the knot.  So it should be your band on first, then your engagement ring.  I say this just because I always feel the need to, but obviously it's your so wear it however you want to!  lol!
