  2. They are duds not experts. But everyone can learn from everyone.

  3. I don't see anything wrong with an (below) average player becoming a commentator. For crying out loud, none of us, here, have ever played international cricket and everyone seems to be more competent than the commentators, on offer...

    It's ok as long as you have played considerable amount of first class cricket.

    Rohan Gavaskar has played well in domestic cricket for a long time,also a few ODIs.

    Even Arun Lal,who is a good commentator  has played  only a few international matches,but played a lot of first class cricket.

  5. You don't have to be a good player to be a good analyst, or to be a good coach.

    Being a good player gives you credibility it doesn't mean you are able to interpret technique and events in the middle as well as read the game in order to explain it to the tv audience.

    Commentating is a proffesion in itself.
