  1. i dont now

  2. I saw that video.  I live on a permaculture farm.  My husband and I are frugal, but not cheap (there is a difference).  We buy quality items that will last a long time.

When I go into the feed store, and purchase items, I buy a years worth at a time.  So I always ask what kind of discount I can get when I'm purchasing several tons worth of salt & mineral blocks, and the chow for my elderly horse.  I just ask, and I do recieve.  Sometimes we are filling a couple of pickup trucks.

I also deal with the haggling nearly every single time my customers come to my farm.  I'm just your average white person.  All of my customers are ethnic, from many, many different countries.  Thus far they have all come from cultures where haggling is the norm.  I'm somewhat use to it now, but at times still find it annoying, when I know I've set the best price possible already.

This year my Mom, hubby, and myself all went in and purchased cell phones (on two different plans) at the same time.  At the end of the trasaction, we had saved about $400, and he'd tossed in extra things (like headsets, and pink car chargers) for free.  I'm never ashamed to save money.

By the way, I didn't think that haggling on 20/20 was extreme at all.  You should try to haggle with someone from Africa, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Trinidad, or Jamaica!  Those were simply people ASKING for a better price.  They were not true hagglers who are telling you how you and your family are bad people, and how you could be a better person, with many bright blessings on your family, if you would just come down a little in the price.

Try selling a goat....you'll learn what REAL haggling is all about!

  3. I might be wrong with what you mean by the 20/20 episode.  Was it about the girls beating up on one girl and video taping it... If that was it then...

I think that any girl who participated in this painful attack then they should be expelled and require some anger management classes until the next school year.
