Well, what do you think about their design decisions? Is their anything that you would like to see them do?

  1. I havent liked a new bike in the last 25 yrs

They could bring back a Knuckle Or a 65 Pan I would buy 2 each of them

  2. Don't style them to look like an insectoid robot refugee from a science fiction film. Rather than design for the BAB or RUB markets take into account that some of us would like to be able to carry waterproofs and a lock (and possibly a sandwich) under the saddle, a built-in security device like some scooters already have. Use fasteners and calipers that don't dissolve at the sniff of rain or road salt. Don't waste my time with a huge range of ‘functions’ on digital displays – rev counter, speedometer, idiot lights and a trip are all I need. Take a serious look at fuel-injected 2-strokes. Make frames from straight tube and don't over-engineer them because you've adding curves make it possible to replace a section rather than the whole of an alloy composite frame. Add genuine adjustability to the ergonomics – not everyone conforms to one shape.

Contrary to all the above, I was in the mood for a rant – make a Britten v1000 for the road.

  3. HD hasn't changed in years, and I hope they keep it like that.

  4. Dump the belt drive, EFI, gas gauge, and all the electronic gizmos.

    Bring back wide whitewalls.

  5. IndianJohn's onto something, that's why the Electra-Glide Classic looks so much like the '65 Electra-Glide, styling-wise. A '47 Knuck, a '65 Pan, but I'd have to throw in a fatbobbed FXR... preferably in Shovel.

  6. i dont know im really happy with the types of design we have come up with over the years both on bikes and cars, i mean have you compared the first ever motorcycle to a modern day one?

    1st motorcycle

    everyday motorcycle

  7. i like the way bikes are now.... i'm actually kinda afraid of bikes morphing more....

  8. I like them all I just want 2 find wich bikes are faster

  9. More bikes that look like the Hayabusa and B-King.

Power is already where it needs to be since a bike and a rider usually weigh less than 750lbs with the Hayabusa/B-King putting out as much horsepower as my 3100lb + me car.

  10. sport bikes will always evolve. hd should do like dodge and Chevy and go back to an old 40's design, it would sell like hot cakes!!!! www.blacklistedcustoms.com

  11. I'll probably get some thumbs down for saying this, but the wave of the future in motorcycles (and cars, for that matter) is electric engines. Current technology could easily produce an electric engine that will fit on a motorcycle and produces at least 100 hp, or more (the Tesla motor is the "size of a watermelon" and makes over 200hp). The only sticking point is making a viable battery that is small enough for a motorcycle and could power it for at least 150 miles, and I see that happening in the next 2-3 years. There is already a motorcycle in the works (estimated availability of Fall of this year) that has a range of 45 miles and a top speed of 50mph that will recharge is 2.5 hours. Not stellar numbers, but more than adequate for the typical commute that does not involve a highway.

Seriously, in the next few years, we could easily see a high performance motorcycle that will run with many of the top bikes out there (keep in mind that electric engines achieve maximum torque at startup) in the next 2-3 years IF manufacturers take the initiative to build them.
