What do you think about two weeks in a small Alaskan town only me and my girlfriend?

Am I nuts? Can you believe that a Newyorker can even consider this?

I want to ask you guys if we will enjoy ourselves, we both like the mountains and the winter season.

I am going to fly from NYC(JFK) to Anchorage with Delta Airlines and I want to know a small town near Anchorage.

We will rent a Jeep in Anchorage.

There has to be a tour plan for at least ten days , my husband and i once planned a 10 day remote vacation and we got so bored because there was not form of entertainment , and believe after looking at the water for three days , it doesn't seem to change.

my mom spent a summer working in Skagway Alaska a few years back, it is remote but sceninc, it draws summer tourists,  but not in numbers like you will see on any block in NYC.

I say yeah, go experience life....but take a serious look at the weather, it is September now and sunmmer is over and winter is on the way....
