What do you think about when you think of lifeguards?

Sunburned and bored.

But seriously its the easiest job in the world and I get a good tan and 20 minute breaks every hour!

Pennsylvania's lack of them, due to signing some law last year. Basically, we have no lifeguards in our state parks.

Such a shame really.

It depends really, because I've had many different experiences of lifeguards. I've had some which are realy good and making swimming excitiing, for instance they let my brother and I go down flumes ways you're not meant to, yet ways which wouldn't hurt you or anyone else, just stupid rules.

Some lifeguards though are really annoying, for instance there was one who wouldn't even let me twist off the side of the pool, and I couldn't do anything, they just shouted, at rules which weren't written down or make sense.

My general idea though is someone who just watches over you and might tell you off for a few things, and most I've had are ok, yet sometimes can spoil the fun.
