Well ... im 14... i like computers ...as a matter of fact i kiss my laptopiousgood night jk.... but seriously i know C++ basic vbscript assembly and html... i actually work with my I.T. department during the summer AND GET PAID but the funny part is i don't get great grades i mean i could but im too lazy ... now back to my original question... and be honest... am i a nerd

1)  YOU need to stop being lazy and GET good grades!  Four years from now your going to throw opportunities away that could get you full ride into a college of your CHOICE!  Especially if your that smart!

2)  How are you getting paid at 14?  Didnt think that that would be allowed!

3)  Your NOT a nerd.  Your just STUPID if you throw away a future!  Especially if you pick up on computers that quickly!

4)  DONT forget about sports!  I see so many kids like yourself that are lazy and NEVER get away from behind a computer!  You NEED to make sure you excel at passing all of your State PT tests!  You should strive to be in the top 10% of these.

Keep learning about computers!  It will turn into something VERY good in your future... but DONT throw away your chance at school right now!  Especially if your doing it to not be termed a "Nerd".

it's funny how every kid that doesn't get good grades always says the same thing...I could, but I'm just too lazy.  Yeah right.  Prove it.  Get straight A's just one time in your life.  Until then, you're not a "nerd", you're just another stupid lazy kid.  The world is full of 'em.

You're definitely a geek.  That's a good thing.  Don't know if you're a nerd.

I'm a geek.  My friends are geeks.  We're married.  We have college degrees, and kids, and fun hobbies, many of which don't involve computer screens and do involve direct sunlight.  Most of us are at or near normal weight.  Several of us are above normal on strength and other health measures.  We have lots of money because of the high paying jobs we get with our geeky skills.  And there isn't a single boring person among us (except maybe me).

We're geeks, but we're not nerds.

What's the difference between us and nerds?  We have good personal hygiene.  We're socially housebroken.  We dress with some semblance of style, but it's still age appropriate (we're in our mid-30's to mid-40's).  We don't want to withdraw from the world, we want to be part of it and partake of all it has to offer.

Yep, I was way into computers back in my teens too, and that made me a geek.  Whether to be a nerd too is your choice.
