What do you think an "over the top" price would be for a wedding?

I think anything over a couple grand is ridiculous. It's only one day, and you're practically paying for your guests to have a good time, because you're usually too busy running around doing other things. Sorry. It's my wedding day, and I'm not going to pay for a bunch of people to eat fancy food and drink expensive wines.

Anything over $5,000 is way overboard. And that should include at least the airfare for the honeymoon.

$50,000 would be WAY over the top.  Most of the people that I know have gotten married between $10,000 and $30,000.  And I have never been to a wedding I thought was awful and tasteless.

I read that the average price now a days is in the neighborhood of 28,000.  I think half that is excessive.

I would say that anything over $30,000 would be fairly over the top...especially if you don't make more than that in one year...

I'm going to keep my wedding under $10,000 for sure.  The cheaper, the better!  (As long as it's still beautiful.)  But all these shows you see about people spending $200,000 on a wedding is absurd!  Anything over $25,000 is ridiculous - that's a quarter of a hundred thousand dollars!  Hope this helps!

Anything more than $20,000 is over the top, i believe. I think between $5,000 and $10,000 is the most common and sensible budget.
