I know exactly what kind of tattoo I want but not sure how to get it.. I'm thinking I want it on my foot.

I want a lotus flower or two (depending) if it has smoke/flames I want to get "U da du tsi yv" which means nephew in cherokee, coming out but blended in with the smoke/ flames..

Either in the one tattoo (maybe two) i want to put two years, the years that my nephews were born..

I don't know if I should do one tattoo on each foot, both with the smoke/flames and nephew in cherokee or if i should put them on one foot but then i dont know how to put the years together?

Or maybe even doing two flowers on one foot but just the flowers no smoke/flames but how can i tie the cherokee word and the years to the tattoo..

what do you think??

kinda ideas to go by

no flames/smoke 2 flowers http://flickr.com/photos/miss_laura/319265935/

with the flames/smoke on one foot or on two? http://flickr.com/photos/superunknown1492/78088144/

which ever i chose i will find some way to change the colors and make it my own...

thanks for your help and sorry if this is confusing??

  1. based on the pics of the idea for the foot....

i would do the flower (or 2 small flowers) with the wording above the flower

i would have their birth dates on either side of the flower, or under

if you did 2 flowers i would put each boys dates under their flower

i'd pass on the smoke and flames and flower since that would make for a rather busy tattoo for a foot.

  2. No, no, this is not confusing one bit. Firstly, this is a wonderful idea. I absolutely LOVE the lotus flower on one foot, with two flames and smoke, for each of your nephews. The tattoo from the second link is FAR, FAR better than the first. I've seen two people with tattoos on both feet, but I really feel it looks rather silly. I have one on my right foot. Just in case you were a bit curious, this tattoo is of two beautiful cherry blossoms separated by five small petals - it's simply gorgeous. Anywho, as far as the lettering goes, you may want it written in brown, like I would, but the artist would definitely be able to assist you there. They all seem to have a vision when it comes to tattoos, and as long as you throw your influences in there, they should definitely be able to tell you what they feel would look best, much like a person's hairstyle. My blessings...

  3. I like the idea of one foot being tattooed, so it looks less like a "matching pair". Two flowers, with smoke, with one year in each and the words in the smoke, in a script that looks like smoke curling.

Idea: Instead of lotus flowers (which don't seem to lend themselves to the overall feel of the tat, or to the Cherokee theme), why not pick something that's a more traditional, native AMerican flower/plant? Also, the shape of the lotus doesn't seem consistent with the curvy, loose, flow-y feel of the smoke. I can't think of a substitution right now, but here's a website with native American plants and their meanings: http://www.mytattooink.com/tattoo-pics/f...

    Good luck!

  4. Can't help you with this one

  5. no flames

do one on each foot, or do two on one foot with a nice, scripty text for the words swirled between the two flowers, and one year above the flowers and one year under them
