  1. I have a 2008 TC and I think it's a great car.  This is my third car, but my first new one.  So far the quality has been great and I haven't had any problems with it.  As a first car...get a used one; First cars are ones that you can make a few mistakes, learn to drive a stick shift and get into a driving groove.  Once you prove yourself to be a capable driver (I'm simply assuming that you're a relatively inexperienced driver, no offense), and you have the money put away, go ahead and get yourself a new one.  Here are the problems that I have with it:

    1. Low head room, I'm 6'2" and my head sometimes hits the roof.

    2.  No trunk keyhole, I'm just old fashioned.

    3.  Plastic bottom doorframe, I like to kick my shoes off when there's snow on the ground, and I don't like kicking plastic.

    4.  Stereo.  Even after I've turned the bass down to -5, it's still too boomy.

Those are small issues and overall I am very satisfied with my car.  I chose the TC after test driving nine other cars and this one was the best.  I hope this helps.

  2. its a good car basically a toyota celica reliable, good car for teens such as yourself

  3. first point i would like to make is the warranty is 3 years 36,000 miles bumper to bumper. the cars is a toyota and you will never have to worry about it, just complete the scheduled routine maintance. i have an 07 manuel and and 08 automatic limited edition. i love them both. a great thing is the ability to customize. i recomend the tc 100%, good luck

  4. good first car. reasons:

    1) insurance (relatively cheap, go check insurance provider first)

    2) reliability (scion made by toyota)

    3) warrenty

    4) aftermarket support (tons of mods you can do to your ride)

    5) safety (performed well in crash tests)

    6) looks (its a coupe)

    7) maintenance (if you maintain the car yourself you'll find it's an easy car to work on. things aren't cramped in the engine bay, so you have space to work on the car yourself)

if you have the means of getting one, i say go for it. you will not regret your decision. oh, and the tc is not a celica, it is based on the toyota avensis (released in europe) and has a camry engine. if your into modding, the engine in the tc handles up to 350 hp on stock internals.
