Also, if one's got installed more than one, can't in cause problems to the pc?

Also, for what reasons would you say that they're good?

  1. I happen to like Avira AVG.  It's good, it's current, and best of all, it's free.

  2. do not use more than one anti-virus application they can interfere with each other... check out Comodo.com they offer a complete security suite yes they can be trusted or try Avira.com their personal works great and has a high detection rate... try a external firewall they connect to the machine with a usb or firewire thats cutting edge tec at work to keep your machine safe just use your yahoo search and check it out

  3. Kapersky is best anti-virus engine.  The best all around software is probably Zone Alarm Security Suite as it has Kapersky anti-virus engine, good anti-spyware and great overall firewall and internet security.  Remember though, these programs all change rankings about 10 times a year based on different types of tests done by different testers.

  4. I recommend Eset Smart Security.  It comes out with fixes to viruses only a week after the virus has been released.  It is also faster and cheaper than Kaspersky(which I am almost certain will come up)

Multiple virus softwares interfere with each other.  The only exception is Windows Firewall and Eset Smart Security, which through some (violent) negotiations, have learned to work together.

  5. kaspersky is the best I have used so far , I used norton, AVG, and Metcafe. kaspersky is easy and powerful

  6. ESET NOD32 and Kaspersky are the best anti-virus programs. Recent tests prove Kaspersky and NOD32 are better than the best sellers Norton and McAfee.

Norton is rubbish, it's notoriously bloated and likes to take over your system. Trend Micro Antivirus is a viable alternative if you're having a lot of trouble with software conflicts. Trend Micro rounds out the top three. BitDefender is very good as well, but gives a high number of false alarms.

The most popular free anti-virus programs (AVG and Avast) have poor detection rates (82.82%, 87.46% respectively). If you want a free anti-virus Avira has higher detection rates than AVG or Avast! (94.26%).

Spybot Search and Destroy and SUPERAntiSpyware are the best anti-spyware programs. These happen to be free.

You can only have one anti-virus installed, but many anti-spware applications installed.

    Good luck mate!
