What do you think are the best methods for a government to control large numbers of people???

Liberal programs which enslave the masses to a life of government dependency.

A capitalistic federalistic government similar to the united states. I don;t think a large mass of people could be controlled any easier.

The many forced expulsions of MILLIONS throughout Europe pre-, during and post-war Europe suggest terror, torture and termination are the most effective means of 'controlling' humanity. To read this book is to DANCE IN THE STREETS! today over the MIRACULOUS advances of the European Union the last few years. It's difficult to streamline trade and legal rules and there are concerns about excessive homogenization but liberalization is clearly the answer, and I LONG for Canada to join (we've been invited to joing the EU, it seems) and LEARN from our EU sisters and brothers, who l reap the rich rewards of effective use of their network! It's not perfect but it's better than war.

1) make them dependent, tell them you'll take care of them, but you need LOTS of tax money

2) Take away their guns, because they want their citizens to be "safe" from each other.

3) Dumb everything down so everything and everyone has an "equal" chance. Can't have winners and losers, that makes some people cry!

4) Have a really LARGE military/police force, which comes out at the slightest sign of political disquiet to "keep the peace" (but can't be found after a cyclone....)

I don't think that the government should control large numbers of people except in prisons. Large numbers of people should control the government!
