What do you think are the most significant events in Human History?

I have to include some in a play, they need to be easily acted out.

REALLY famous ones that need little explanation, also things that could've gone either way, for example:

Hitler's parents were cousins, they had to get Papal Discretion to get married, if they hadn't poof, no Hitler.

  1. the americans dropping the atomic bomb on japan.

    it was in retaliation to the attack on pearl harbour, and resulted in the empire of japan's surrender from world war two.

    and it showed the world what kind of power and destruction the americans were capable of.

    space exploration, advanced robotics, alternative energy solutions.
