What do you think? can proverbs be compared with daily life?

i mean, some proverbs such as

try try and dont cry.

fortune favours the brave......

they do make sense but when it comes for application in our lives, are they worth it?>??? i mean it is difficult and nearly impossible to apply them

  1. Well, my grandfather ( and I am now a grandmother!) used to say to me: 'If at first you don't succeed , try, try and try again' and I think that is pretty good advice on not giving up - which you definitely need in ordinary, everyday life.

    Another one:  'The grass is always looks greener on the other side of the fence' helps you to be content with what you have.

    'A stitch in time saves nine' is wise and makes sense to take remedial action before a situation gets worse.

    'More haste, less speed' is a proverb to which I should have paid more attention, as I'm always rushing ahead without stopping to consider.

    I think proverbs certainly serve a purpose and it is a way of learning from the wisdom of others who have lived longer than us and experienced more of life than we have.
