  1. I would say it depends on the situation.

There might be a lot of fear and confusion. Or maybe if you die of old age you're at ease because you're ready to die.

I don't know, because I've never been in that situation. I know that when I fell 30 feet it was like a dream. Slow motion, no pain. Trust me, I was in a lot of pain afterward.

  2. It sucks at first, then you lose all consciousness.

I bled to death - literally.

  3. I'd imagine it's pure desperation to hold onto life.

At least it would be with me.

  4. Like how astronauts feel when they loose consciousness from loss of blood in a centrifuge.

  5. What Obama feels when his wife makes off the cuff remarks.

  6. Its to be our sweetest last breath, if you believe in God.your last moments depend on what is taking place.

  7. As I cared for my fiance as he died of cancer, he shared his thoughts and feelings with me, and I learned what it must be like to die.  He said that he was terrified and felt remorse for all the bad things he had done during his lifetime.  He was frightened of God and what might happen to him.  Even though he was basically a good guy, it was pretty horrible for him.  Mostly, he was angry that this happened to him at such a young age and when he had everything going for him. What I remember is the time he cried and banged his fist on the table begging me to try to help him.  It was very pitiful.  He was only 46.

  8. The final detachment?

  9. It hurts.

What was i thinking about during my heart attack?

'I can't die now.  I've just bought a new stereo'.

It's true.  I was very matter of fact about the whole thing.

  10. I was going go say:  "Like sh*t" but then you said "mentally".

I think mentally, it would be like a really big rest.

I think there'll be a moment of utter panic, but then a person has to just (if they have time to anyway) give in to the inevitability of it all.

    Cheers

  11. Bailey requires an answer to a question fundamentally unanswerable.

Having experienced "near"-death, however, it's like being in a tunnel that gradually gets darker and darker, until oblivion is achieved. Never been to full on oblivion, but that's where it seemed the bus was headed.

  12. youve gone a tad morbid bailey havnt you  ;-O

sounds like soemthing id say, not here, to myself or my boyf , then i write a poem about it

i wrote one about that exact thing

about imagining what death feels like

(NO idea why i just siad that maybe its relevant maybe its not...how knows)

  13. I would imagine being scared sh*tless out of your mind at first, and then nothing.

  14. peaceful

  15. Hmmm, interesting question...

but the first thing that came to me was,

it probably hurts less than living...

  16. painful

    sad

  17. Depends on how you die.

I imagine if you're being eaten by bloodthirsty squirrels, it's a slow and painful death.

If you are dying from heart failure or anything similar, you probably lose consciousness too quickly to go on a delirious trip.

  18. Well, most of my family has died of cancer.  And at the end, I've seen a bit of relief and acceptance.  But that's probably because they've had a while to prepare for it, and after fighting it for so long, they just want to be free of the pain.
