Rap music, seriously. Spike Lee wrote a great article in which he called Rap music "Cultural Genocide" and he is right. Music has a big influcence. Black individuals are told they can make money by being a star athlete or a rap singer. Likewise girls get their images from being trampy. Its all negative role modeling. Their is a ceiling that prevents them from gaining status in society so when your poor, your more likely to resort to crime.
