  1. Personally I hate it I was born her live here I've been trying to escape the prison of PA since I was a kid now I live near the NY border I'm getting closer to getting out of my prison. I have encountered racism hate crimes ect..

  2. Yes, mainly due to the many poor black people.  Did you see how many old crumbling brick buildings there are?  Crazy!  You don't see that in California.

  3. I used to live there. Ran SCREAMING! Hateful petty epople...

  4. It really depends on which part of the state you are visiting. Pennsylvania is quite diverse. I have encountered many open minded individuals, as well as "rednecks".

It has it's run down areas (cities, and some north eastern coal towns), and it has beautiful areas.

I live in rural, northeastern, Pennsylvania. It's beautiful here, but certain people are very conservative, and some are racist. Thankfully, I know more awesome, educated people, than racist rednecks.

  5. yes i have encountered racism there, on several occasions.. mainly poor white people who are like this

  6. As a native of Pennsylvania, who went to college in the south, and now lives in Southern California, I can tell you that PA is no more racist than any other place I've been.

Racism is often linked with poverty and poor eduction.  Guess what?  Every state has pocket communities like that.  It's not that long ago that L.A. experienced race riots and was once known (perhaps still is) as the gang-capital of the country.

Going to school in the south, you can imagine the bigotry I saw.  Even I - who am white - was occasionllay referred to as "the Yankee" - and not jokingly or affectionately.

My family and friends back in Northeast PA are hard-working, loving, kind people.  Is there racism there?  No doubt.  Let me know when you find a place that's free of it.  And good luck with that.

  7. I lived in Pennsylvania for 10 years, and yes, there is a lot of racism and bigotry there. Maybe that has to do with the fact that there are city people there, rednecks, hillbillies, and a wide range of people there. Crossbreeding does have its disadvantages.

Yeah, and MOST people from Pennsylvania (with the exception of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Allentown) are stupid.
