6'7 and will no doubt put on at least 50 pounds with a good conditioning coach. 22 years old and a TON of potential. I feel he will have a solid run in the Heavyweights and in time could be a fighter to watch for. He has good management and with the condition of the division he could make a lot of noise. How do you in the boxing forum feel about him?

  1. He needs a good trainer who is experience with tall fighters to learn him up a notch or two, or he's sunk.  He has lots of athletic potential, but is pretty crude and awkward.

But, ultimately, we'll have to see how his chin and heart fares in the pro ranks before we can judge him in any real way.  That's the great test for any amateur fighter, regardless of skill and ability (see Zab or Audley).

  2. At 6'7" and knowing the jab is something of establishment, he could have great potential in the heavyweight division. I think he gained some valuable lessons from his experiences at the Olympics. I just hope he's not one of those heavyweights who can maintain a consistent weight, instead of those whose weight are all over the charts in every fight.
