  1. I would say around 24 minutes about 12min per mile!!

  2. What you want to work on is 15 minutes at least. I know when you do the math its two 7:30 miles, but you don't want to think of the miles separately. It'll only drive you crazy.  What you need to get in the habit of doing is running 3 MILES DAILY , and try to BEAT your time each day. That way, when you get around to your 2 mile race, 2 miles will feel like nothing and you can finish almost half of the race, if not more, at a much much faster pace without getting as tired. The key thing is building your endurance. run run run day after day. after day. just remeber to make sure you have the proper running shoes for your ankles/kness/toes/ etc or else you'll injury yourself, and after your daily runs, stretch efficiently which loosens up your leg muscles, increases your felxibility ( which can help lengthen your stride ) and  prevents next day soreness

  3. For your age, under 20 minutes would be okay.    In High School you might aim for 15 minutes or faster.

  4. 25 minutes would be good. if you are older 15 minutes.

    --good luck

  5. 12:30.

  6. It's really hard to tell because people your age vary. I'm not gonna give the whole people's bodies are changing talk but the fact is it doesn't happen to everyone at the same time and some people will be better than others, but not for long. I'd shoot for a sub 20 minute 2 mile but very preferably a 15 minute 2 mile. This being your first race I dont think above 15 minutes would be bad.

  7. For a 13 year old male, you should be running some where in the range of 13:00 to14:30 for 2 miles. Do worry if your not running these kinds of time yet, your times will drop as you become more fit and learn how to run better. Please keep in mind that every cross country course is different and unless you are running all your meets on the same course it will be impossible to tell if you r time are improving. The best way is to do a time trail (practice race) on the same course or on a 400 meter track so that you can compare 2mile-time. This is the exact same reason there is no world records in cross country just course records.

Also three weeks is just enough for your body to adapt to your training.  There is so much more for you to learn about distance it is impossible for me to explain it in one posting.  You will see a give drop in times at about 6-8 week when you start to se the real benefit of you training.  Keep in mind that in 2010 will be the frist Youth Olympic Games in Signapore for kids 12/13-15/16.  There is an official websuite up for it on the web.

    good luck with your season

    God speed

  8. if you are a novice it would take you about 45 minutes at 3 miles per hour to do 2 miles. if you are a conditioned athlete you could half your time to 22 minutes for those two miles.-blurey
