I am 16, 5'8 and I weight 175 lbs. I found online that I have a larger body frame if that means anything. I swim so I have a bit of muscle in my body. The BMI says I am a bit over weight, but I think losing 15 lbs would be good, but I think that's still considered over weight. I have no idea. I look healthy, and feel healthy. I've just go a bit of stomach chub that never goes away.

  1. You are a little heavy, but if you have a larger frame and a lot of muscle tone, I don't think you are that overweight.  You don't need to worry about it.  If you lost 15 lbs I think that would be ok, and not overweight still.

  2. http://www.kidsnutrition.org/bodycomp/bm...

"A 68-inch tall, 175-pound, 16-year-old girl has a body mass index (BMI) of 26.7, which is at the 91st percentile for age. This suggests that this girl is at risk of being overweight. A healthy weight range for this particular girl would be from about 118-pounds to 162-pounds."

  3. BMI is not accuarate. According to it, some athletes and gymnasts would be considered obese. My dad is considered obese, and he is 6"3 and weighs 210. If you feel healthy and your doctor never says anything wrong about your health, you are probably fine.

  4. Depends on your body fat percentage. If you are 175lb but large framed and muscular you will have a lower body fat percentage than someone your weight who is small framed and non muscular. The body fat percentage should be 28% or less for a girl your age.

    Hope this helps.

  5. if you look healthy,, feel healthy, eat healthy (not alot of junk, sodium, fat, red meats etc.) and you work out you are fine. dont worry about the numbers =]

  6. if you exercise already and have a stronger body then usual women try that 15 pounds... if you feel like you need it ... but don't starve yourself ! continue swimming ... this is the best exercise on earth !

remember that you are still young and you haven't finish growing up ... first thing you may realise is that that 15 pounds will melt away without you doing anything ...

healthy life + sports = you will remain healthy

  7. if your okay with your body and have no history of diabetes or heart problems,

    dont do a thing.

please answer my question, it wont post for some reason.
