  1. none of those..please

aspen is the best for him and the cheapest of all of them ...

  2. I use aspen shaving and eco-earth (coconut based). I get Eco-Earth for a lot cheaper than aspen shaving so I use it more. Eco-Earth is kinda like dirt (shredded coconut fibers) and takes some prep work, but I really like it and have had no problems using it.

  3. ugh..i still haven't figured out why people put their ball pythons on aspen bedding.  aspen bedding is too dry for balls.  aspen is fine for kings and corns but balls need a substrate that holds humidity.  cypress mulch (forest floor) is the best for ball pythons.

  4. Douglass fir bark is amazing.  I use it on all of my snakes it raises the humidity and gives a very natural look for a ball python.  I would not use sand in any way for a ball.  Douglass fir bark is sold at most pet stores in malls and at petco/petcity.

  5. I use shredded coconut bark for my ball pythons, Bernese python and even for my Pixie frog. It is not expensive, easy to clean and it works great!  It can be successfully misted for humidity, too.
