  1. i think itd be really bad. what about air condition!? haha. or for people who cant see very well and i dont think people would like every light in their house off at night. im personally terrified of the dark so id hate that. its not a good idea at all

  2. Good first - free electricity almost all day light's day, no pollution and help green-ing environment.

Bad - The house would be like a oven cause similar reason to the black colour car. Cloudy for days then going to suffer blackout. Voltage i think will be hard to contol because is a DC mode and the sunlight stronger or weaker will effect it. Last, even you buy a DC to AC converter, and a power storage plus the solar panel cover all the house, it going to cost a bomb maybe price of the house. By calculation by consume electricity home user, it's price too high by using solar power being based source of the electric than electricity bill for the 30years.

  3. The whole point of solar energy is not that the lights go out when it gets dark, but that the energy collected during the day is stored in batteries and then used when the sun isn't shining. Once you actually get the "panels" (which is what you call the collecting agent in the solar energy system) and over come the initial costs of installing it, etc, then you'll be able to generate enough energy to get yourself "off the grid"... which means you would no longer need to buy energy from the electric company... they might even pay you!

The only problem is the storage system for the energy generated. The batteries that will be (and are being) used are still being developed so that they can be competitive in price to what we use now. Hope this helps!

  4. Long-term use of a solar house MAY be plausible.  However, the cost to install the equipment needed, I am certain would be huge.  What about everybody in areas of the world that have the wrong climate for solar power?  I am sure Seattle, the Midwest and Canada would have major problems getting solar to even work properly.  The downsides are far worse than the upside of solar power, at least until breakthrough technology is found, or everyone moves between the tropic of cancer and capricorn.
