  1. it depends on what level you are on. i think swimming isharder because i am higher at that

  2. I think track is harder... i was in track at my school and i only lasted a week then at home that weekend i could barely get out of bed!!!! but is was fun

  3. its a so-so quewstion, because I am a swimmer, but track in gym is the hardest thing for me

Yet many track atheletes take swimming for gym and they drown...

I general though swimming is harder, because their's so much to think about....... false starts, breathing, flipp turns, transitions in IMS, what lap are you on, how many laps are their to go, you can only see the people on either side of your lane so you question were you rank, should I drive into the walll for the finish, am I that bad they lapped me, should I slow down because I lapped her/him....

Swimming and track are physically challenging, but swimming is harder mentally...

    SWIMMING WINS!!!!

  4. Well, this question doesn't really have an answer. For people who and not very muscular, track is probably easier. For people who are more muscular, swimming probably is. It all depends on your abilities and preferences. Just stop arguing with your step sis, and get out there and swim and run together!!

  5. Swimming is a full body workout.. if you have ever done the butterfly stroke for 200 meters then you know from that pain that it is a greater pain to get through than running.

  6. I agree with you, i think swimming is because when you swim you have to move all your muscles, not just your legs. When you swim you get tired, sometimes in the middle of the water, and there's more resistance. when you run, you only make your legs sore the first few times, but after a while it gets easier, unlike swimming.(=

  7. Quit wasting your time bickering with your step-sister over subjects that have no "right answer."

It's like asking if English or Math is harder in school. It depends on your natural abilities. It depends on the teacher/coach.

Holy cow. What a waste of breath.

  8. swimming is harder b/c ur using almost all of ur mussles. trck only uses a few. swimming is much harder. ask ne swimmer that. they'll tell u swimming is harder for sure. water is more resistance than air, so its harder to move. swimming is harder for sure. trust me. i do swim and tried track, and swimming is harder.

  9. i do swimming and track in high school, I would have to say swimming the 200 fly is worse than running the mile, in swimming there are different strokes that work different muscles ...most swimmers have to exel in all strokes, but in track you mainly focus on your leg muscles,

  10. hi

    k. track is very hard because ur legs get very tired. but swimming is hard 2 because u have to hold ur breath and kick and ur legs and ur arms and ur shoulders and basically everywhere on ur body hurts.

i believe swimming is harder because it uses all of ur muscle.

    swimming is defenitely way harder.

  11. id say track i am a swimmer and i just plain hate running, if someone is good at running like 3 miles straight or 100m crazy fast, they have my utmost respect

  12. Swimming is definatley harder. Water has great resisitance and there is no air underwater. Add these two factors with working every part of your body and you got yourself one tough sport. As for track, I was on the track team in my elementary for 5 or 6 years and I personally find that if I practiced enough, I would have no problems and as mentioned, when you are above ground, there is much less resistance and you can breathe whenever you want to.

  13. i think swimming is harder, but at times track can be tough

  14. Track is harder.

  15. I do both

    swimming is harder

  16. Swimming is most definitely harder than track.   If you think about it, what is one thing that track, football, soccer, and all of those other land sports have that we don't? SOLID GROUND. When you run on land, you're pretty much always going to have something there underneath you if you fall- given you're not running off a cliff- and in track, you won't. The ground won't disappear if you blink.  On the contrary, us swimmers are forced to create our own surface to swim on.  I mean, the water doesn't HAVE to hold us up- we don't have to float on the water- we CAN drown.  We have to find the perfect combination of abdominal and other muscles to make ourselves even float let alone race, kick, pull, and gain speed to win.  Also, to get faster, we have to go through much more than track. We have to do cardiovascular training, weight training, cycling, we do areobic and anarobic workouts that push you to your wit's end.  We also cannot breathe whenever we darn well please, unlike track.  Breathing every stroke severely damages your race and slows your speed and momentum down to an untimate low.  And lastly, in track, one breath cannot determine a gold medal or a last place finish.  With sprinters, one breath can kill your race- trust me- I've had it happen.  Taking one single breath going into your finish can slow you down and allow your competitor to touch before you do.  And when it comes to Olympic Trials or the actual Olympic Games, there's no mercy at all, and no room to let your opponent to out-touch you.

    I hope that answer's your question. =]

  17. def. swimming.

you've gotta go throught training [if you can't swim]

breathing exercises ^^ like you said

and by the end of the dayy, you'll be so worn out, you cant walk for days.

    track on the other hand,

    takes practice.

but you get used to it quicker than you would with swimming.

i can barely do either btw.  :-P
