how many dogs do you think is normal to have?

As many as you heart desires. In some areas, its illegal to own more than 5.

I think 2 is a really good number. They have each other to keep company when you are away, but it also isnt to much to handle when taking them in the car or on walks.

I would like to say as many as you want,

but almost every city and/or county has

a set limit of how many dogs you can have.

We have four at our house. It's really fun

playing with them all. I would definitely say

more than one. That way they have a friend

when your gone, and it's twice, trice.......the

fun.

Normal to some may not be normal to others. I have 10 which is normal for me. Other people think we're crazy.

As many as your heart desires? I know people who have 50+ dogs because they love dogs, but their dogs are not treated properly for lack of money and time.

If you can care for the dog, provide it with shots and food and toys and all that other good stuff then you should own them. You also need the space and time for that many dogs.

I think the size of dog should be taken into consideration as well. 10 yorkies are a lot easier to deal with then 10 St. Bernards.

I think 2-4 is a good number too own. I know in some areas of Canada that you can only have 2 dogs unless you live in the country.

There is no right or wrong answer.  How many does your city allow?  How many can you afford to take proper care of?  How much time do you have to spend with them?  For me, normal is 3 or 4, but for someone else it might be 1 or 10.

If you have so many dogs that they are becoming feral and you can't keep up with cleaning up after them and making sure they are fed and happy, then you have too many.  Each dog needs love and attention and if you can't give enough to any one dog, then you have too many.
