  1. There are several great insurance companies. To find out the ratings of a company the website http://www.ambest.com is one of the best. A consumer can find out a company's financial stability, rating and analysis. This is great information in finding out what an insurance company can do and where it is going in the future. To find out problems insurance companies have had the bbb.org is a great site. Here a consumer can find out past complaints customers have had and how many complaints have been filed against a company. Based on all of this information, it is very hard to say what company is best. There are so many great ones to choose from. It may be best to find a company in good standing with the state, ambest.com and bbb.org who offers the lowest rates for the coverages you need. One consumer may think customer service is most important, another person may care more about rates, while others care about claims. There is just too many factors to pick one best company.

  2. I have been with Geico for quite a while and have never had any problems yet.  I have also never been at fault in an accident so I have never really had to deal with them.  I have been ht a couple time by both Allstate users and they were a pain in the butt to deal with.  In Oregon the law states that I can take my car to any repair shop I choose and their insurance did not like where I took it.  The shop took my car in right away and had a rental ready for me and everything.  Allstate said they were not ready to look at my car yet so I would be paying for the rental until they looked at my car.  I threatened back with a lawyer and they paid for everything as sped up the process.  I do not like places that do business like that so I will never recommend Allstate.

  3. Right now A.I.G. is offering some of the best rates, but the best would have to be All State.  The have the best incentives and treat there customers with respect.

  4. I have been with State Farm for over 40 years, with one miserable 3 year stint with a cheaper company, and am very happy.

  5. it really depends on the person. you should try out this site, http://www.8ez.com/e8Jr161cr , they found me the cheapest quotes from all the possible insurance companies in the area.

  6. Well, I have to say that I do not find Geico or any of those distant and "cheap" places to be any cheaper than my insurance with Farmer's. I think you should be careful about going with someone from an 800 number or website because I don't find them to be cheaper and it's not good (in my opinion) to have your company so "far away." I think that as long as you stick with a place who has a reputable name that you should be okay. However, when I was rear ended by somebody with State Farm, I found out that they aren't a fair company. They didn't give me enough money to replace my bumper and claimed that some of the damage was preexisting (it wasn't, but I couldn't prove it and was too young at the time to know what to do.) I really like Farmer's.

  8. Which came first the chicken or the egg.  There isn't an answer for this question because of what emphasis people put on different factors.  For some it may be rates, claim service, 24 hr availability, customer service, agency force, website and others.

Your going to have to determine what you are looking for and then go from there.  The majority of people are looking for the cheapest rate.
