There is no known power source down in the Earth. Yet gravity if an awesome amount of work done.

  1. intelligent design.

SOMEONE wanted us to stay on this Earth without floating around in space.

  2. (Energy = Mass) + Spacetime = Gravity

    Energy + Spacetime = Gravity

    Mass + Spacetime = Gravity

    Spacetime + Mass:

    Gravity.

Its like putting a heavy ball in the middle of a suspended sheet then putting little balls on the edge all the little balls will fall down the curve in the sheet and surround the big ball. The big ball represents mass and the sheet represents spacetime.

But unlike the sheet spacetime is 4D meaning it has Length, Height, Width & Motion so a ball in the middle of space time will pull things all around it smaller in mass towards it hence gravity.

Even you a person had a tennis ball and was out in the middle of space  the ball will be attracted to you as you will create gravity to it pulling it towards you.

  3. All mass in the universe feels an attractive force to all other mass in the universe-- this is the basic property of gravity although the "why" behind this is the subject of much ongoing research.  Now you don't need a power source for gravity to do work.  The mere fact that you have two masses that are separated from one another, means that the force of gravity tends to pull them towards one another.  If you want to know where that energy comes from, it's due to the fact that the masses are separated to begin with!

It's just like dropping a ball from the roof of your house.  The ball gains kinetic energy as it falls, but where did that energy come from?  Is it a magical power source in the center of the Earth?  Of course not-- it's because you lifted the ball up to the roof before you dropped it.  The same principle applies elsewhere too.  Consider a hydroelectric generator powered by a rushing river.  The water is flowing downhill through the river, releasing energy, but the water had to be lifted up before it could flow down.  The source of energy responsible for that is largely the sun, heating and evaporating water, which then rises and condenses to form rain, and so on.

In short, gravity is a force and it is an effect but it is not a source of energy.  The sun and the internal heat of the Earth are responsible for much of the energy available to us on the planet (the other major source is nuclear energy stored within the mass around us but that's another discussion).

  4. The cause of gravity is mass....but I don't think that is exactly what you meant.

  5. In theory there is a gravity force carrier particle called graviton. Like photons in EM force, gravitons are exchanging between different particles and thus forming gravitational field.

Check the LHC research for more info.

  6. - Gravity Does No Work -

Work is the transfer of energy between systems.  When an object moves in a gravitational field, the proportions of kinetic and potential energy change, but the total energy (E = U + K) remains the same.

    - Cause of Gravity -

I don't know, and I'm not inclined to speculate, but I will say that I'm fairly confident it exists.

  7. The cause of gravity is the distortion of space-time caused by mass. Particles move on "free paths" even in a gravitational field. In a region where there is no mass present, a particle will move in a straight line. A mass like the earth warps the space-time around it, and so the paths that free particles will follow are distorted or curved. This is the Einsteinian General relativity point of view. The curvature of the paths is interpreted as an acceleration and attributed to the gravitational force.

The work done on a mass falling in a gravitational field comes from the fact that the potential energy depends on the distance of the object from the center of whatever source is responsible for the field. So in this case its the earth. At a higher altitude an object has a higher potential energy than it would at sea level. So work can be done on the object by releasing it.

The gravitational field is the source of the power, via that difference in potential energies.

  8. Gravity is actually acceleration (9.81 m/seconds squared).

It is the acceleration of air molecules I believe. It's not that gravity does a tremendous amount of work, it's that gravity and the mass of an object causes a force.

I use the formula 'F=ma' to explain this concept!

f is the force, m is the mass of whatever object is being referred to, and a is the acceleration (or gravity)

  9. I'm definitely no expert, but maybe it's an overall force between negative and positive ions. Some complex way in which they are organized in the universe...

    God Knows
