A lot of phenomenon natural or artificial may some day bring an end to the existence of life on earth. Now I wonder what you people think would be the most probable cause if it happens so in future. Guys come up with some original answers as you really think coz I will choose as the best answer which clearly reflects the thought. Good luck.

  2. Dear friend,

My specific answer to your question is very simple.  You are sure that some day bring an end to the existence of life on earth. I am of the opinion that your this sure feeling taken birth on some of your feeling/

belief/readings or self made conclusions etc. If so, you should be a person to find the cause for this on the same lines.

However, my answer is that this can happen as a consideration if you value the "Theory of Evolution" by the Great Scientist Charles Darvin. Or otherwise, this have been happening and may happen as Nature's activity, at it's own course of time.

    Regards.

  3. The greatest threat is the Global warming.

  4. Capitalism

  5. greedy human beings

  6. Wars among governments.

  7. Nuclear Bombs...

  8. It’s good to see that there are a few guys who are thinking in this direction and I will be very happy to put in my thoughts.

My dear friend, as you might have known that around a few million years ago earth was ruled by Dinosaurs and one fine day they just vanished, there are sooo many reasons given some say that there was volcanic eruptions some say that there was ICE age and so on. But before that that main reason behind any of the natural calamity to occur is a disbalance in the earth at that time the population of dinosaurs grew so much that they shattered the balance of the food chain and whatever happened after that is known as EXTINCTION.

Similarly we human’s; are the most prominent species on this planet right now, and we are using up all the natural resources (like water, oil) at a very fast rate resulting in depletion of forests and ground water. We are polluting the environment by not just one thing but soo many small things that we are not even noticing the effects those things are having on our environment.

Plastic bags for example; they are non bio degradable means that even if humans die out or get wiped out of earth and after 1 million years again there is life on earth then they will find that thing without any scratch.

These plastic bags get accumulated in drain pipes thus blocking them and we have a flood situation just after 2 hours of rain.

Global warming is another thing just think when you were young say 7-8 years old how were the summers frankly speaking I used to play in the sun in the afternoon during my summer holidays in Delhi. And NOW I can’t even step outside it’s so HOT.

So my dear friends I don’t care whom you give 10 points all I care is that even for ones you thought about this thing.

Please don’t just think also do something…. Stop using plastic bags and ask others also to do that. ( I never use plastic bag’s for shopping I have cloth bags which I carry and I don’t feel any shame in using them).

Walk as mush as possible and reduce the use of vehicles, use a cycle instead good health and less pollution.

  9. human

  10. Consumerism.

the whole big hoo-ha. the extraction, processing, disposal process that comes along with it will soon deplete every natural resources we have on this earth and pollute the earth so much that we would no longer be able to live in anymore.

  11. I believe that the greatest threat to lie on planet earth is mankind - they have already destroyed the homes of animals, and now with global warming, are destroying their own homes.  Everything they tough becomes broken.

  12. Nuclear war, hands down. A limited nuclear was between either nation-states or nations and individuals with weapons, is a virtual inevitability, we are just entirely too casual and possess too many of these weapons, with peak oil and other items peaking, desperate people may follow bad leaders who do bad things in their name.

Biological catastrophe - several times already, notably in the UK, US, Russia and Germany there have been accidental releases of new micro-organisms or organisms which have been genetically modified, if someone accidentally or intentionally released an unexpectedly nasty bug, you could end up in a "12 Monkeys" kind of situation.

Machine Intelligence - A machine which became sentient (ALA Hal from 2001, Skynet from Terminator, or Colossus from The Forbin Project), might have good or bad intentions for our species.

From Orion's Arm, hyper intelligent machines are the actual local administrators of various star-systems - including Sol. But such intelligences could have BAD intentions towards our species.

Asteroid - Do nothing and eventually the Earth will be hit by an asteroid.

I believe strongly that the old George Carlin joke applies,

"People say, if an asteroid hits the planet, the planet is in danger .... Wrong...the planet is fine, it will continue in it's orbit. The PEOPLE are f*cked. The planet will be just fine.....Compared to the people, the planet is doing great."

It would be very hard - in fact to eliminate all life on earth, even if the entire surface was returned to a molten state, bacteria and such exist deep beneath the surface and they would survive anything other than the total liquification of the crust and mantle.

Environmental disaster - while this won't affect all life, necessarily, there are problems which could cause issues - again the PEOPLE, are in trouble. We currently have the problem of global climate change but that's like kid play compared to some of the new problems which could occur in the future.

Also from Orion's arm is an environmental disaster that could affect the entire planet...it would be a type of manufacturing disaster.

Where nano-lathes (small self assembling nanites) got out and about and made it to "ground". Basically, you could have an ever-spreading "nanoblight", that would eventually cover the whole or significant parts of the planet, turning the Earth into a nano-wasteland that eventually became molten as the core heat would be the only thing that could probably stop nanites.

Stellar explosions, Eta Carina - is a star about 1000 light years from Sol, but it's hugely massive and totally unstable and when it goes, it will kill any and all life within about 500 light years, sterilizing that section of the galaxy, with gamma radiation.

If a star close to Sol , was that unstable (within 10-50 light years), we could be in very serious trouble.

Further in the future, - presuming we survive - experiments with time-space could cause problems for either our local solar system - if we were unwise enough to conduct space-time experiments in near Earth or really even Sol space.

An out of control test black hole or deformation of space-time could have unknown consequences for us and our planetary system.

  13. well its actually we who'll end life on dis earth.........actually no we'll end de earth first n than de earth will end us..........

i actually request all ppl who see my answer 2 help save de earth cuz it needs us n we need it.......

  14. decieve in love

  15. Oh sweetheart, it's already begun.  Did you know that 3.5 billion people, that's more than half the population of the Earth, have the toxoplasmosa gondii virus?  They've had it for a very, very long time, but it's becoming more of a threat.  Do you know what this virus is?  As strange as this sounds, It dwells in many animals, but can only reproduce in cats.  It was experimented with on rats that were trained to fear the smell of cat urine because where there is cat urine, there are cats that want to eat them.  The rats were then injected with this "T-virus" and they ran willingly to the urine as if insane or crazed.  The virus knows that it needs to get to a cat to reproduce and practically takes over the brain of the rat to bring it closer to its goal.

How does this effect humans?  This virus is the cause of many mind-altering conditions like Schizophrenia and the like.  It is very real and can affect our minds.  Have you ever heard of the neighborhood "crazy dog lady"?  No.. they always have cats.. and lots of them.. and their house always smells like cat urine... it's spreading.

How does this pose a threat now as opposed to any other time?  The Russians are working on a means with which to activate this virus in humans as a form of mind control.  It works similar to a defibrillator which zaps your brain rather than your heart (which would normally be used to bring someone back to life, hopefully before they suffered from brain damage).  They were planning to send it up in a satellite.. not to use, but to have "just incase".  If it were to go wrong, you would have 3.5 billion people mindlessly trampling through the streets talking to themselves and h**l bent on only one thing... get cats and spread.  If you didn't know any better, you might think it was a zombie uprising..

How has this affected our past?  The Ancient Egyptians worshiped cats as messengers of the Gods and the keepers of the Dead.  When someone you love dies, wouldn't it be a blessing to have them come back from the dead to be with you?  Where did this idea of mummies and zombies being bad things come from?  Why do we bury our dead 6 feet below the ground (just a little bit above average height when this custom began)?

In fact, how do we know it's terrorists we're fighting in Iraq?  If you ask any army vet who came from there, they will more than likely not know anything about the war.. they were never in close combat.. and if they were, do they remember it?  Do you know anyone with Alzheimer's who had absolutely no connection to the military in any point in their lives?

Look it up... toxoplasmosa gondii.  The reason why you haven't heard it before, by the way, is because if the importance of this threat was spread, it would cause mass panic.  A large amount of people in panic-mode are difficult to control so the government is keeping it hushed.. keeping us ignorant..

  16. Willful stupidity inspired by greed.  There are no other  reasons to continue doing things we know are dangerous and damaging to the environment.

    Except ignorance, of course.

Most problems can be spotted and the damage limited if politicians would just respond with an ounce of balls instead of responding to lobbyists..  All the harmful things people are screaming about now have been screamed about for years.  The U.S. is the single best example of industrial greed willfully ignoring the facts but CHina is catching up.  There are some small signs that China may be starting to respond to the problems but the U.S. continues to respond with meaningless talk.
