They say men and women are equal but is there a clear defintiion of equal and proportionate rights and responsibilities.

Today when marrige and motherhood is looked down upon and preference is given to a wonmans self do you think that they should be deployed the same as men.

Since the tradiotonal wife or mother is fast disapperaing and ther are more Lorena Bobbits.

  1. you're right. the right meaning of equality is when society can perfectly view women with cooking tools as great as men with guns. only quality in performance differs their level.

  2. political reasons mostly ( I apologize to those women who have served their country I have the up-most respect for you)

I think modern armies work under this handicap for it has limited resources and would rather train more fighting men to relieve the pressure off our overworked soldiers. They are fighting the enemy and their political masters.

Females do an excellent job though but it is more front line troops we need at the moment and for humanitarian reasons a civilized society would not put females in such danger though I know a fair few could do the job very well indeed.

  3. As someone who is unmarried but cohabitating and never wants kids, believe me when I say that marriage and motherhood are not looked down on. I am negatively judged for my choices on a daily basis. I also do not know any women who have cut off anyone's p***s, so I'm not sure where you're getting that from.

Anyway, to answer the question I think you're asking, I don't believe in the draft for anyone. I do find it sexist that men have to fill out draft cards and women don't; however, I think the answer is to abolish it altogether. We need a military, but I don't think we need FORCED military service from anyone.

For the record, I also think it's sexist and stupid that women aren't allowed to fight on the front lines. Perhaps fewer women than men are willing to enlist because there is some truth to the idea that women as a whole are more compassionate and gentle than men, so those jobs hold less appeal. However, I have some female friends in the marines, and by god if they want to fight then they should be able to.

  4. Maybe they dont want to put their lives on the line.Especially now.

  5. Intelligence, laziness and no sense of duty or responsibility. Different reasons for different types of women.

  6. Women in the US are not allowed to register for selective services-men are required to register. This is a decision of the US Congress and has been fought all the way to the US Supreme Court-but they always say Congress has to decide. So the US Congress is sexist and enforcing unfair requirements of men.

Women in the US were barred from the majority of military jobs until Clinton and Bush made executive order changes that allowed women to perform more and more military jobs. Now US women can apply for 80-90% of all military jobs-even those that can come in contact with combat situations-as evidenced by the increase in female military deaths and disablement in the Iraqi and Afghani wars.

As far as tough jobs go its a mixture of sexism and interest in performing non-traditional jobs. Non-traditional jobs usually require greater strength or danger or time away from home which limits women who don't have the upper body strength or interest in dangerous occupations or have children to caretake (and being in a sexist society-more women are expected to caretake their children than their male partners).

Males also experience sexism when applying for non-traditional occupations as well and can be discouraged from training or applying for occupations like women can be.

Since I believe many men and women are capable of performing well in the military and some of both genders are not fit for service I don't see why both genders can't support our troops and be deployed if they meet the military criteria to perform the job. As I believe both men and women can be excellent as well as awful parents-I don't see why women should be expected to stay at home and men serve-I think men are equally capable of caretaking children adults and the aged-if given the opportunity.

  7. The people usually guys who recruit and interview for tough jobs are still biased they still see women as they were in the olden days. So they would even hire wimpy guys than let a woman show them up at work that require lifting and other tough things. In the old days only men were allowed to fight so that is why.

  8. Because most women wouldn't want to do things like that.
