  1. This is a really difficult question to answer, because there is quite a bit of debate on what the "typical human" is. Women, Men, Children of all ages from infancy on, and even just personal genetics seriously alter the amount of time that person can concentrate.

    Even interest in the subject affects concentration.

    If you're listening to a 2 hour lecture on the chemical composure of dryer lint you're going to stop concentrating frequently and use your own discipline to force yourself to stay on task.

    A little baby has an extremely short attention span.

    My father can hyper-focus on things for hours. If he goes into his office (at home) to write a brief (he's a lawyer) he could be in there for over six hours without coming up for air. No eating, no drinking, he doesn't even realize how much time has passed. If you go in and try to talk to him he won't hear you unless you shout or wave your hands over his documents, then he'll look up...

    So I guess what I'm trying to say is that every single person's concentration.....huh? What was I saying?
