  1. more than 1 year!

  2. It's totally up to the mother.

Because more and more women are now breastfeeding their babies, more and more are also finding that they enjoy breastfeeding enough to want to continue longer than the usual few months they initially thought they would. UNICEF has long encouraged breastfeeding for two years and longer, and the American Academy of Pediatrics is now on record as encouraging mothers to nurse at least one year and as long after as both mother and baby desire.

  3. When they start walking or before 1 year.

  4. i was breast fed until 18 y/o

  5. I don't think I'd be comfortable with it after about a year, maximum a year and a half.  I have very vivid memories of when I was little and my mom says that I wasn't even two for some of them....I'm really glad, some of them aren't my staring at her b***s.

  6. I BF my daughter until she was 16 months old.  I loved it, she loved it and we bonded really great!  I was more than ready to give it up then, but was really sad at the same time.  She was my first baby and I don't think that I'll BF my second baby that long, maybe 12 - 14 months.  I just want a little more freedom sooner LOL.

Anything over 18 months to me is really odd, but some women like to do it longer.  After about 2 years I just think it's gross, but I'm not one of those people I guess.  I don't really judge because it's not my place.  The lady that BF her 7 or 8 year old is just sick.  That should be considered sexual abuse.

  7. Probably 3 years.  I know most will say 1 year or so, but in reality, up to 3 years is acceptable in many cultures.  I doubt I'll do it more than 1 year though.

  8. For me, if they are old enough to ask for it, they are too old to be breastfed. But that's just me.

  9. I think any time after they turn 2 is innappropriate.  I was watching a show on TV the other day, and this girl was breastfed until 8 years old.  I find that disturbing, but thats just me.

  10. That is a personal choice that has no definite answer.  But on the medical side of it it is best to breast feed up to 12 months, its been proven!!

  11. I'm sorry, but I think if they are old enough to say 'Mom, time to breastfeed', I think that's too old, haha.
